Facets was composed for my dear friends and fellow Trilogy Brass Trio members, Maddy TarantelliandJoDeeDavis.WeformedTrilogyin 2017 during a time when we all craved connection and community in the form of a chamber group. Throughout the group’s existence, we performed widely across the Midwest at schools and events like the SHE: Festival of Women in Music, and the InternationalWomen’sBrassConference.
Thisgroupwasabreathoffreshairwherewe couldalwaysfindsupport,love,andcare.Each movement of the piece is named after a gemstone. I chose each gemstone intentionally becausethesegems,likemyTrilogycolleagues, provide protection, nurturing and joy. Please enjoy!
