US$4 Billion Contract

Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) closed a contract of approximately US$4 Billion dollars with Sete Brasil for the construction of High technology Drillships. Additionally, Sembcorp Marine,Parent Company of Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), announced the signing of the contract of US$792.5 Million for the design and construction of one drillship to Dutch Guarapari BV, a subsidiary of SeteBrasil. All six drillships will be built in Aracruz, and represent the next generation of HighSpecification drillships with advanced ability to operate efficiently in very deep waters throughout the world. Each drillship will have cutting-edge equipment facilitating drilling. The six drillships, scheduled to be delivered between 2015 and 2019, will be the first in a series to cater to the Oil & Gas discoveries in Pre-Salt are of the Santos Basin.
US$ 674 million contract Jurong do Brasil, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, closed a contract worth US$674 Million for the construction of eight modules and Integration of FPSO's P-68 and P-71 of Tupi BV, a consortium with majority ownership of Petrobras Netherlands BV and BG Overseas Holding Ltda and Galp E&P BV. The manufacturing of the Modules and Integration of the FPSOs shall be conducted by Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz, with an estimated delivery in 18 months
Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz promotes transfer of know how Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) promotes various training programs of local manpower and technology transfer. A key program is the exchange program, Educational Cooperation Program in Singapore, to qualify students and teachers in the Mechanics field of IFES for the shipbuilding industry. The Educational Cooperation Program is developed between EJA, IFES and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) of Singapore. This initiative will qualify students from IFES to work in the shipbuilding industry, and provide training of IFES teachers in Leadership Training in order to be multipliers. With this program, EJA will be able to rely on local manpower specialized and trained on International Standards. IFES will receive support in technology transfer and training of its students & teachers; while the students of IFES will receive training information and immersion in Singaporean culture and work ethics, broadening their opportunities.
Training program for labor Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz is implementing an extensive professional education project that will cater to approximately 680 people from the neighboring communities. The project, composed of 25 courses (for a total of 3,780 hours) has been divided into two phases. In the first phase, 330 vacancies were offered and in the second phase over 350 vacancies are being offered. Candidates have the opportunity to take courses in Hydraulic Firefighting, Environmental Management, Industrial Electric Maintenance, Industrial Plumbing, Heavy Machinery Operation,Electrical Building I n s t a l l a t i o n, E l e c t r i c a l E n g i n e e r i n g , I n d u s t r i a l Automation,Human Resources Assistant, Caregiving for the Elderly,Industrial Mechanics Maintenance and Welding (Electric, Coated, MIG and TIG).

Sustainability Projects at EJA Sustainability has been included into the Business Strategy at Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), with the development of projects in Social, Environmental, and Economic sustainability. The Shipyard currently has 14 Control & Monitoring programs of its activities such as Socioeconomic monitoring, Dust Emission, Noise Emission, Quality of Surface Water & Ground Water, Beach Monitoring, Flora & Fauna Monitoring and Marine Monitoring. Environmental education and comunication program In the Social realm, EJA develops an Environmental Education and Communication Program,which performs several activities for the community. Additionally, EJA runs the Environmental Education Program, RVS Santa Cruz & APA Costa das Algas, to promote information about the Conservation Areas together with the different public stakeholders.

The Singapore Case was discussed at the Oil & Natural Gas Shipbuilding Industry Conference at the 5th Fair of Metal-Mechanical, Energy and Automation – MEC Show 2012, from the 24th to 27th of July at Carapina Pavillion in Serra, Espirito Santo. The event was sponsored by Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), and had 180 companies from eight (8) states in Brazil, and EJA's Institutional Director, Luciana Aboudib Sandri, and EJA's Human Resource Manager, Lucila Lopes, represented EJA as panelists. Among the invited guests, was the Director of Foreign Trade of Singapore to South America, Mr. Anchit Sood, who presented information regarding the economic potential of Singapore and its vocation to the Shipbuilding Industr y, emphasizing the investments made in Espirito Santo by Sembcorp Marine and Jurong Shipyard through Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz.

All the activities performed during the installation phase of the project have the objective of conservation and preservation of the environment, safety of the employees, creation of jobs & income, and improvement in the quality of life of the surrounding communities.With the suppression of vegetation,EJA conducts a Recovery of the Degraded Areas Plan, to recover an area of 57 hectares in Native American land, and will soon begin a recovery project in the restinga area of the Praia Grande district.

Local manpower The Shipyard prioritizes hiring local labor, which is evidenced in the early disclosure of the vacancies offered by the Shipyard to the community and the recruitment process performed by Sine of Aracruz.The strategy is successful, as 69% of the hired labor is local, and currently 60% of the Suppliers of services and products to EJA are local businesses.To ensure the maintenance of this local policy, a training program for Suppliers will be developed.

Support for Local Project EJA launched the 1st Announcement for Support of Local Projects, which outlines the policies established by EJA to support projects in the vicinity of the company. EJA will select eight projects that contribute to the social, environmental, and economic sustainability of the communities of Aracruz and Fundão, to receive financial funding and will be developed in 2012 & 2013. More information regarding the program can be found at the EJA website (Jurong.com.br). The announcement of this Program was made during the Non-profit Organization Strengthening Course, promoted by EJA, which has been conducted in the surrounding municipalities of Aracruz and Fundão.
