De 09 a 13 de novembro de 2015, aconteceu a 3ª Semana Interna de Prevenção de Acidente de Trabalho (SIPAT), do Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA). Durante a semana, o EJA reforçou a importância da atividade física e a busca por melhor qualidade de vida. Todos colaboradores do estaleiro participaram das ações da SIPAT promovidas em tendas com profissionais da área da saúde. Entre as ações estavam avaliação física, aferimento de pressão arterial, dicas de alimentação saudável. Além disso, foram oferecidas atividades relaxantes contra o estresse com cadeiras de massagens e aulas de alongamento.

50th edition of Offshore Technology Conference (OTC)
PRODFOR and EJA sign partnership In order to further boost and strengthen the relationship with local suppliers, EJA has joined the group of sponsoring companies of Prodfor - Integrated Program for Development and Qualification of Suppliers. Prodfor develops, evaluates and recognizes the efforts of suppliers in their management systems, specifically in the areas of supply quality (ISO 9001), environmental (ISO 140001), health and safety (ISO 45001 reference), financial, fiscal and labor standards (own norm) and compliance assessment The program is managed by IEL-ES, an entity linked to the Federation of Industries of Espírito Santo (Findes). Among the several sponsoring companies are Arcelor Mittal Brasil, TechnipFMC Group, Petrobras, Samarco Mineração, Sebrae and Vale.

EJA receives visit of the State Undersecretary of Development On April 24th, Estaleiro State Jurong Aracruz (EJA) received the visit of the State Undersecretary of Development Adson Thiago Oliveira, accompanied by the Special Advisers, Eliamara Janaina, Fernanda Orletti and Mayara Lambert. In this ocasion, the visitors went to the facilities of the Integrated Workshops, which are the most modern in the country. In addition, they knew the quay of the shipyard as well. EJA supports “Nossa Praia” On March 17th, the “Nossa Praia” Project, supported by the Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), presented the proposal of recovery of the restinga vegetation located in the Enseada das Garças neighborhood in the municipality of Fundão / ES. “Nossa Praia” offers environmental education on the importance and value of restinga that is an ecosystem associated with the Atlantic Forest Biome. The project is sponsored by the EJA and by the Associação de Moradores da Enseada das Garças, with Camping Guruça, Instituto de Defesa Agropecuária e Florestal do Espírito Santo (IDAF), Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio) and the Municipality of Fundão (PMF).

EJA sponsors the “4ª Festa e jogos Guarani” In April, Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) sponsored the “4ª Festa e jogos Guarani” carried out by the Associação Indígena Tupinikim e Guarani. The objective of the event was to promote culture, the exchange of experiences between competitors and the community and encourage young people to maintain traditional games. There were eleven competitions such as: archery, running log, body fight, spear throw, power cable and soccer. In addition, the event featured musical performances by regional bands.

Graduation of the Industrial Plumber and Welder Apprenticenship On June 6th, a graduation for 29 young students from the Industrial Plumber and Welder Apprenticenship took place at EJA. The participants spent the day at the shipyard and were given the opportunity to learn more about the company’s operation through a guided visit. After lunch, they took part of a symbolic graduation ceremony, attended by many of EJA’s managers, as well as its president, Mr. Altaf Hossain. Through the Young Apprentices Program, EJA aims to foster social inclusiveness, by offering quality professional training to youngsters from Aracruz and Fundão - ES. The program was ministered at SENAI Aracruz during a year, where the students had practical and theoretical classes in laboratories that simulate the activities carried out by EJA. EJA’s promotes internal audits All departments are working in synergy to provide improvement of the yard’s procedures, activities, and processes. One way to ensure this commitment to best practice is through internal audits. EJA has already carried out three different audits to evaluate various aspects of the company’s management, only in the first half of this year. The ISPC Code audit took place in March and checked items linked to international port security standards. In April, the factors related to the Environment were evaluated at the HSE department, in order to prepare the company to request ISO 14001 certification, related to the company’s environmental management. EJA is ISO 9001 certified regarding Quality and Customer Service. In May, there was an internal audit to follow up on the issues related to this certification. At the ocasion, procedures were audited at 21 sectors. All audits were conducted with support from the IMS department.
