With your support, our children are being raised up in a community where they are known by name and loved unconditionally...
“
Dear Faithful Friends of Jupiter Christian School,
Welcome to the first edition of the Philanthropy Report! Thanks to your continuous and sacrificial support year after year, giving at JCS has grown by 300% in the last four years.
As a token of our gratitude for your generosity and in celebration of the incredible mission we are privileged to be a part of, I am proud to introduce this quarterly publication aimed at keeping you informed of all the exciting things happening on our campuses.
JCS is proud to be known for excellence in teaching the mind, reaching the heart, and inspiring servant leaders who are impacting the world for Jesus Christ. In the following pages, you will see some of the ways that the Annual Fund is strengthening this mission by attracting and retaining the highest quality faculty and families. With your support, our children are being raised up in a community where they are known by name and loved unconditionally, nurtured and educated to reach their fullest potential in college, career, family, and beyond.
This past year, we set out to raise $1,000,000 toward the Annual Fund, strengthening our security, athletics, fine arts, student learning services, scholarship programs, and teaching faculty support. Thanks to you, we far exceeded our goal and were able to invest heavily in our facilities. Although there is more work to be done to finish our Building Legacy campaign and elevate our existing facilities, I am proud of the progress and eager to witness all that God has in store for our students as they learn and grow on our beautiful campuses this year!
On behalf of our entire team of faculty, staff, board, and administration, I just want to say thank you for being a part of this mission. Shalom,
Dr. Seth Cohen, President

Dear JCS Community,
It is with great joy and humble gratitude that I join Jupiter Christian School as the new Chief Strategic Officer. Over the course of nearly two decades in Palm Beach County, I have had the privilege of serving students, families, and educators in a variety of roles from classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, chief of staff, and superintendent. No matter the leadership role or position,
my mission has not changed or wavered. It has always been and will continue to be, to lead with a fervent passion to empower students to align their life with their God-given gifts and abilities, and to fulfill the calling that He has for them.
In my role as Chief Strategic Officer, my primary job is partnering with the school leadership to make the Strategic Plan a reality for our community and our children. In just a few short months, I have been convinced that this is a community unlike any other, defined by biblical values and family partnership. I am thrilled to be in a place where I have the privilege to love and lead our student population and allow my own 5 children to experience the academic excellence and spiritual formation that JCS is so known for. I take to heart the Scripture that stands on our school crest, 3 John 4, which states “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
My passion is in equipping young men and women to align their head, heart, and hands with the Kingdom of God. As a father, this verse perfectly summarizes my heart and desire for my children and all JCS students, to delight in the Truth of God’s Word. JCS is paving the way for schools in this county to keep Jesus in the classroom and graduate students of excellence, expertise, and experience who are positioned to lead in career and college. I look forward to building relationships as our JCS family raises up a new generation of learners and leaders to know Him, to love Him, to serve Him, and to make Kingdom impact in our nation!
In His Service, Jay Boggess, Chief Strategic Officer
“In every way that you partner with us.... you are an integral part of safeguarding our mission to reach the mind and heart of the next generation.“
Dear JCS Friends and Families,
It fills me with deep gratitude to reflect on the 2023-24 school year. Every aspect of JCS life - from the spiritual formation happening in chapels, to the hopes and dreams realized in classrooms and the lifelong relationships formed among individuals on every campus - each component is a gift from God and the culmination of 60 years of prayer from families like you who believe in our mission and are committed to seeing it flourish!
As we continue through the school year, we move forward with confidence and hope that God will continue to raise up men and women of faith to inspire the next generation of leaders, thinkers, business owners, parents, and community members to walk in Truth. I am reminded of the verse on our crest: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” ~ III John 4
You have already given us the greatest gift; you have entrusted us with the education of your child, and we take that calling very seriously as a Board of Directors and as a school. The next best gift is this: your partnership. Partnership at JCS is the key to cultivating a Christ-centered culture where we can walk hand-in-hand with you for the development of your child and the future of our community. In every way that you partner with us, whether through Parent University, volunteering on committees, blessing our faculty, participating in a community event, or giving sacrificially, you are an integral part of safeguarding our mission to reach the mind and heart of the next generation.
You have made our school an exceptional place to serve and give. I encourage you to remain in partnership with us through every stage of your child’s development so that we can continue strengthening our mission and growing together. Thank you!
Blessings,
Donald Barnes, Chairman of the Board

“Students are being empowered with the Word of Jesus Christ and JCS is helping them to be smart, strong, and powerful young people.“
Since 2018, Lisa Chitty has led Jupiter Christian School’s East Campus on Pennock Lane. “What brought me to JCS is the love for the Lord” Lisa states. “It doesn’t get any better than to share the love of Jesus with children and to implant those seeds at a very young age for children to know not only who they are, but whose they are, and be able to empower them to love the Lord. JCS is committed to ensuring that the academics and learning programs provided reach the highest standards.”
Lisa feels that JCS has left a significant mark on the Jupiter community. Ten years from now, she knows that mark will continue to stand strong because JCS is raising some amazing leaders. Students are being empowered with the word of Jesus Christ and JCS is helping them to be smart, strong, and powerful young people.
After 40 plus years of educational administration, Lisa has stepped away from leadership at the East Campus but as she looks to the future, she is confident that the students of today are our leaders of tomorrow. Lisa notes, “It is essential to continue developing, empowering, and then watching them fly. I know that years from now, there will be many children out there leading our community, walking side by side, and helping to impact not only this community but other communities and even the world. JCS is raising young ladies and young men to impact the world for Jesus Christ.”
As an impact partner, Lisa has generously helped to make a difference through The Annual Fund, paving the path to lifelong success and flourishing for students, and safeguarding a lasting legacy for the Jupiter Christian School community. We are grateful for everything Lisa has done for our school!
We are so grateful to the families who have supported our vision with gifts of $1,000 and above!

“We are optimistic about the future of JCS....and envision physical expansion to better accommodate the growing student body.“
The transition to Jupiter Christian School from public school for the Chesney family 3 years ago was an easy one, driven by their desire for a smaller, more intimate faith-based environment for their two boys, Trey (15) and Cameron (13).
Freddy and Kelly Chesney demonstrated their commitment with the first cornerstone gift toward campus improvements. “Kelly and I made the decision to partner with JCS based on the leadership from Dr. Seth Cohen, President, and Mr. Donald Barnes, Chairman of the Board,” Freddy says. “I have known Donald for 20 years. He has been a mentor to me, and when I saw that he and Seth had taken over the leadership roles at JCS, I was all in!”
Looking ahead, Freddy is optimistic about the future of JCS. He hopes the loving culture fostered by the faculty and staff will continue to flourish, as they consistently pour into the students. He also envisions physical expansion to better accommodate the growing student body.
“I am a big fan of the Athletic Program at JCS and would like to see Champion Athletics on a consistent year-to-year basis. I think with some of the things going on in the school, we are well on our way to that,” Chesney notes.
The Chesneys’ dedication to JCS ensures that future generations of students will continue to thrive. They hope that other families will also be encouraged to invest in shaping the future of Jupiter Christian School.
Shawn Teufel, JCS Class of 2005, is the Vice President of Family Wealth, Sports and Entertainment at Sykon Capital. He works with families, business owners, and athletes to protect, invest, and preserve their wealth. He shares that Jupiter Christian School prepared him for this role by being a part of our strong Math and Science Magnet program, which grew his love for numbers and science. Initially, Shawn wanted to become a doctor, but God had other plans and is using his story to help others use their resources to grow the Kingdom and glorify Him!
When reflecting about his time at our school, he is most proud of the foundation that JCS created in his life - a firm foundation on Christian principles, allowing Christ to guide and direct his every move. The attributes our institution instilled in him – those of trustworthiness, honesty, and integrity - shape how he approaches and conducts business today. He strives to help families maximize what God has provided with a Biblical foundation.
Shawn, a lifelong athlete, was a part of the JCS team who won the 2005 Baseball District Championship! He went on to play baseball for Liberty University and was drafted in his senior year. He was blessed to play six years with the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets organizations. Shawn was also a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society during his time at JCS. “Looking back”, he notes, “in any type of industry or profession, being open to learn new skills will pay dividends in the future.” He encourages our community to keep making strides to grow in knowledge and add value to other’s lives.
When thinking about student life, he recalls his class as being very competitive. “We motivated each other to strive for excellence and challenged each other to do our best in sports, academics, and in serving our community”, Shawn says. The Class of 2005 was a memorable one and he still enjoys connecting with his fellow JCS Alumni.
Jupiter Christian School has been a tremendous blessing in Shawn’s family’s life. He and his wife, Julie, are excited to see their three daughters grow and develop the same Christian values during their time at our school. Be on the lookout for the Teufel girls playing for the JCS volleyball front line or the girls basketball team or softball team come 2034!
