“When I was looking at colleges, I realized that anywhere I’d go, I was going to be investing a lot. I have four brothers: three are in college and Joel (pictured) also attends Juniata. Thankfully, Juniata offered me scholarships that made it possible for me to attend. In fact, Juniata not only offered me scholarships—they had more to offer in terms of hands-on experience, a supportive community, and the talented professors.”—Julie Reighard

A child survivor of the Rwandan genocide, Liliane is harnessing the power of Juniata’s hands-on learning opportunities. From leading a group of Juniata students and faculty back to her home country to studying in Israel, she is focused on changing the world.

“At Juniata, I found people who believed in me, as well as an environment where I could gain confidence and do everything I wanted,” says Harris Cauler. While at Juniata, Harris supervised 25 fellow students in the Technology Solutions Center, created his own web development company with start-up funds from the College’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and traveled the world with the Juniata Concert Choir. All of these experiences resulted in Harris’s postgraduate life: he was hired to GEICO’s three-year emerging leader program, and works as a user experience analyst and designer at GEICO.
