Information Technology and Computer Science The Juniata Advantage ● Gain Experience: Juniata’s information technology (IT) faculty maintain professional relationships with colleagues and clients that provide a variety of internship choices. Intern on-campus or with businesses and corporations like NBC, Hershey Entertainment, Kish Bank, or a variety of state agencies. Or, help operate the campus technology service for hands-on experience in tech support, research and development, and training. ● Go Interdisciplinary: The gathering of information technology, computer science (CS), digital media, and various business, communication, and environmental science programs in the recently renovated Dale Hall enables students to understand and interact with their counterparts in other professional careers. Juniata recently created an Integrated Media Arts Program of Emphasis (POE) that combines several aspects of art, communication, and more with IT to prepare students for careers in marketing, filmmaking, website development, and beyond.

Juniata’s Outcomes More than 90 percent of IT and CS graduates are employed in their field within six months of graduating at firms like Microsoft, Deloitte Consulting, Lockheed Martin, Verizon, Highmark, comScore, Fidelity Investment, Aflac, Geico, Containment Solutions, and Wells Fargo. Our graduates also earn acceptance to graduate programs at Villanova, Bowling Green State University, Penn State, and Johns Hopkins.

“I love courses like Innovation for Industry, because they give groups of students the chance to work with local companies as we develop products like websites. We are responsible for communicating with these businesses and setting up meetings. This is just one way that the department makes sure that I am ready to enter the professional world!” —Rachel Willis ‘18 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND MARKETING
