Huntingdon is one of Pennsylvania’s best examples of what small towns can be, and we are proud to call it our home. Juniata College is a commonwealth within a commonwealth. Just as Juniata is a community of faculty, staff, students, and alumni who know and care about each other, members of the Huntingdon community contribute to the health and vitality of the town and surrounding area in which they live, work, and play. Many Huntingdon residents work here at Juniata as the College is the county’s third largest employer. We asked our admission officers to share with you some of their favorite spots in and around Huntingdon. Enjoy your time here!

“Hiking Thousand Steps is a great workout, and I love stopping at scenic points along the way. It’s part of the Standing Stone trail, which was named Pennsylvania’s Trail of the Year.” —Theresa Joson
“I’m obsessed with the coffee at Standing Stone Coffee Company. It’s close to campus, affordable, and they sell a product that would put any coffee shop in Seattle to shame. The barista always knows my order, and it’s the kind of place where you’ll often see professors meeting with students on one of their comfy couches.” —Fernando Gomes assistant dean of admission
