A Roaring Lion
by JUNIA
From A New Life by Anita Barker Andersen
A friend of mine, Kerstin, has lived a large part of her life in South Africa, where this happened to a woman in her church. The woman was confronted by a stranger in her kitchen, threateningly wielding a large kitchen knife in his hand.

She understood that he was there to kill her, but didn’t want to scream since her children were watching television in the bedroom. She was afraid her scream would draw them to the kitchen and risk them being hurt. She called out: “Lion of Judah, help me!” This is one of the names of Jesus in the Bible.
Suddenly, the man dropped the knife and ran away. The woman called the police and gave them a description of the man. When the man was arrested, she asked to see him in jail, so she could ask him why he suddenly ran away.
He told her that as she prayed, he saw a roaring lion standing on its hind legs behind her. He ran away so he wouldn’t be eaten. There was no lion in the kitchen, and the woman understood that God had sent his protection and helped her in a somewhat unusual way.
