NEW EVENT IN NEWARK BUTTERMARKET GETS 0FF TO A FLYING START!
A Chance To Support Independent Local Businesses With Plenty Of Goodies To Choose From
Are you looking for something special to buy in the coming weeks?
Whether it’s a gift for a friend or family member or a little bit of a treat for yourself, a new event here in Newark could be just what you need!
The Newark Artisan Market will be open on the first and third Saturday of the month from 9.30am to 3pm in The Buttermarket and, after a successful start on Saturday 3 February, the team behind the event already has plans to double the number of stalls for the next ones, currently scheduled to be held on Saturday 17 February, Saturday 2 March, Saturday 16 March, Saturday 6 April and Saturday 20 April.

Among the visitors to the first one was Susi Wright, a familiar name to regular readers of Talk Of The Town who will no doubt remember her own 6 Million White Roses exhibition that took place in The Buttermarket in November 2022
“It was fairly quiet when my husband Neil and I arrived first thing but really buzzing when we returned around lunchtime,” said Susi, who took the photos seen here “It was a great indoor market, featuring some really gorgeous hand-made things including chocolates, jewellery and ceramics to name but a few, and the singer and musicians there were fabulous too.
“Hearing that it will be extended to include the first floor for the next ones was great news - Neil and I will both be there in March and April with our Meander and Mooch stall selling jewellery and we’re looking forward to catching up with existing friends and customers - including June, of course - and hopefully making a few more too!”
Entry to the event is via the main Market Square entrance and if you struggle with stairs, there’s a lift in the building you can use to access the first floor.
Make sure to put those dates in your diary so you can support the independent retailers taking part in the upcoming artisan marketsif all goes to plan and they prove to be as popular as expected, there’s every chance there’ll be more of them on the cards in the months to come!
