This project is a street redesign for Third Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, completed during the Spring 2023 Sustainable Transportation & Cities class at NYU. The research revealed that industrial development had isolated the commercial and residential areas. The design proposal involves relocating the active industrial zone underground and constructing residential buildings above. By moving industrial operations to the basements, trucks can load and unload without disrupting traffic. Above ground, parks would replace streets, creating a green corridor from the Gowanus Canal to Barclays Center.
