An Ode to the Ottoman age
It was the dawn of the 14th Century when a nomadic tribe, hailing from the Western corners of Turkey, set out on an ambitious expedition to lay claim to many of the Eastern Mediterranean states Conquering the seats of power across many countries, the world new ruler at the time - the Ottoman Empire Today, the most lavish manifestation of the life of the Ottoman Empire could be seen at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Approaching the height of its success in 1453, the Ottomans combined their inherent Central Asian roots with the embraced Islamic culture resulting in a magnificent panoramic vista of ancient Istanbul featured across all the resort elements
From the main entrance and prominently visible atop the majestic gate guarding Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, the tughra - a replica of Sultan Süleyman II signature - is a fitting tribute to the glorious reign.
An exact replica of the entrance to the Sultan Han Caravanserai in Aksaray, the magnificent 19 5 metre-high arched doorway of the resort features a stone made with an amalgamation of molten glass, iron, copper, water and salt This particular combination of minerals and metals was believed to absorb negative energy and protect those who passed below it.
The crescent and stars decorating the main lobby central chandelier, one of the largest globally, was inspired by Sultan Osman From a dream of a magnificent crescent stretching across the ends of the Earth, this became a symbol of the empire as it marched across the world. The star and crescent began to be associated with Islam.
Colours played an important role in the Ottoman times. Each colour stood for an emotion Turquoise was a predominant colour in the Turkish vista. It was deemed to ensure protection whilst the juxtaposition with red and gold hues created a palatial ambience.
The spectacular domes that defined the era of architectural brilliance were a celebrated aspect of Islamic structures. The use of domes for the creation of large and well-defined interior spaces identified mosques with rich hand painted murals.

At the heart of Arcadia by Amala is Chef Pravish Shetty, whose 20 years of culinary expertise have culminated in a concept that harmonizes tradition with innovation.
