Weweredelightedtotakepartinthe19thAnnualStollenCharity EventatKempinskiHotel,MalloftheEmirates,oneofDubai’smost cherishedfestivetraditions.Eachyear,theKempinskiteam preparesagiantversionofthefamousGermanChristmascake, Stollen,withallproceedsdonatedtotheDubai-basedcharity EmiratesRedCrescent.
Thisyear’seventsawthecommunitycometogetherinthetrue spiritofgiving,raisinganimpressiveAED105,000insupportof meaningfulhumanitariancauses.
Over70studentsfromtheJumeirahCollegeCharityCommittee, alongwiththeirparents,volunteeredtheirtimetosupportthe event.TheyhelpedhandoutStollensamplestoshoppers throughoutthemall,sharedfestivecheer,andevenpurchased somedeliciousStollenthemselvestotakehome.Thishands-on involvementofferedstudentsavaluablereal-worldwork experienceopportunity,allowingthemtodevelopcommunication, teamwork,andcustomerserviceskillswhilerepresentingJumeirah Collegeinavibrantcommunitysetting.

AnunforgettableexperienceforourYear8students,whospent theweekimmersedintheexcitingworldofentrepreneurshipin partnershipwiththeKempinskiHotelMalloftheEmirates. Workingindynamicteams,studentswerechallengedto designanoriginalhotelconceptforDubai,fromdeveloping theirinitialideatopitchingtheirfinalbusinessproposal. Throughouttheweek,studentsexploredessentialbusiness principlesincludingstrategicplanning,marketing,and financialmanagement.WithguidancefromourBusinessand Economicsteam,theyproducedfullbusinessplans,marketing materials,andfinancialprojections.Thehighlightoftheweek wasthetradestandexhibition,wherestudentsshowcased theirhotelmodelsandconceptstoapanelofseniorhotel management. Judgesrepresentingkeydepartments:finance,marketing,and customerservice.Theyevaluatedtheprojectsacrossfour categories:MostInnovativeDesign,BestPitch,BestFinancial Plan,andMostViableHotel.ParentsfromJumeirahCollege werealsoinvitedtoattendtheexhibition,wheretheyhadthe opportunitytoviewthestudents’impressiveworkandvotefor theirfavouritehotelconcept.TheKempinskiteamprovided professionalfeedback,sharingreal-worldindustryinsightsthat broughtthestudents’classroomlearningvividlytolife. AspartofJumeirahCollege’s25thAnniversarycelebrations,the JumeirahCollegePartnership(JCP)organisedanunforgettable “UndertheStars”GalaBallattheWestinHotel,DubaiMarina.The eveningbroughttogether150parentsandstaffforaspectacular celebrationofJumeirahCollege’sachievementsandcommunity spirit.
TheeventbeganwithcanapésandrefreshmentsontheWestin terrace,perfectlycomplementingtheUndertheStarstheme. Guestslatergatheredforanelegantdinnerandprogramme reflectingon25yearsofexcellenceatJumeirahCollege.
ThetimingoftheballcoincidedwiththevisitofNASAastronaut DottieMetcalf-Lindenburger,whohadtravelledfromtheUSAto speaktoourstudentsearlierthatweek.Dottiejoinedthe celebrationasaspecialguest,deliveringaninspiringpresentation toparentsandstaffaboutherjourneyfromtheclassroomto space.ShelaterjoinedourPrincipal,MrNickBrain,tocutthe anniversarycake,amomentthatperfectlycapturedthepride, unity,andambitionoftheJCcommunity.
Theeveningwasawonderfulsuccessandatestamenttothe dedicationandcreativityoftheJCP,whoseeffortsmadethis milestoneeventatrulymemorablecelebrationofeverythingthat makesJumeirahCollegeexceptional.
TheJumeirahCollegePartnership(JCP)isadedicatedgroupof over100parentswhovolunteertheirtimeandexpertisetosupport theschoolthrougharangeofinitiatives,events,andcommunity projects.Theirworkstrengthensthebondbetweenfamiliesandthe school,enhancesstudentexperiences,andreflectsthestrong senseofcommunitythatdefinesJumeirahCollege. Eachyear,theJCPgiftssomethingmeaningfultotheschool.The 2024–2025JCPgiftwastheincredibleLeoGoestoSpaceproject.
Studentswereinvitedtowritemessagesthatweresavedontoa USBinLeo’sbackpack,travellingwithhimtotheedgeofspace.The launchwasstreamedliveinclassrooms,withJCPmembersjoining tosharetheexcitement.ClickheretowatchLeo’sadventure.
TheinspirationbehindLeo’smissioncamefromJumeirah College’sloveofscienceandexploration.Aspartofour25th Anniversarycelebrations,wewelcomedNASAastronautDottie Metcalf-Lindenburger,whospoketostudentsabouther experiencesinspace,sparkingcuriosityandimaginationacross theschool.Eachyear,JCstudentsalsohavetheopportunityto attendNASASpaceCamp,wheretheytrainlikeastronautsand deepentheirunderstandingofscienceandtechnology.
TheJCP’s2025–2026giftwillbringthatsamespiritoflearningand creativitybacktoEarth.Theyarefundinganewgreenhouseforour EcoCommitteeandstudentswithgreenfingers,creatinga dedicatedspaceforsustainability,hands-onlearning,and environmentalawareness.
TogetherwiththeJumeirahCollegePartnership(JCP),theCharity CommitteevisitedtheAlJalilaFoundationtopresentachequefor AED20,000,raisedthroughtheincrediblegenerosityofthe JumeirahCollegecommunity.
Thefundswerecollectedthroughaseriesofstudent-ledandJCP fundraisingactivities,includingthesaleofartwork,awarenesspins, cupcakes,andfreshlemonade.Theseinitiativesnotonlyraised vitalfundsbutalsoencouragedcompassion,teamwork,andsocial responsibilityacrosstheschool.
DuringthevisittoAlJalila,studentslearnedabouttheFoundation’s inspiringworkinadvancingmedicalresearch,education,and healthcareacrosstheUAE,providinghopeandhealingto countlessindividualsandfamilies.MembersoftheJCPandCharity CommitteewerehonouredtowatchasJumeirahCollegewas engravedontotheAlJalilaWallofHonour,recognisingtheschool’s lastingcommitmenttocharitablegiving.Theoccasionalso markedadecadeofsupportbetweenJumeirahCollegeandthe Foundation.
Inadditiontothefundraisingefforts,Dr.AnetteAlHamadi, ConsultantBreastSurgeonatMediclinicCityHospitalandabreast cancersurvivor,visitedtheschooltospeakwithYear12and13 studentsandparents.Thispowerfultalkofferedinsightintothe importanceofearlydetection,medicalresearch,andresilience, leavingalastingimpressiononeveryonewhoattended.
FollowingtheoutstandingsuccessofourSpringFair,alongwith ongoingCharityCommitteeprojects,theJumeirahSchools proudlyfundedthe“AdoptaSchoolinSenegal”initiative.
Thisprojectsupportedtheconstructionofatwo-classroomschool inruralSenegal,completewithfurniture,adultliteracyclasses,and teachertraining.Itdirectlybenefits60studentsandextends supporttohundredsmorewithinthelocalcommunity.
Together,weraisedAED152,533.07,whichwasdonatedtoDubai Carestobringthislife-changinginitiativetoreality.
TheSenegalprojectwasselectedfollowingacommunityvoteled bytheJumeirahSchoolsCharityCommitteeandStudentLeaders, withinputandsupportfromtheJCPandleadershipteamsatboth JumeirahCollegeandJumeirahPrimarySchool.

WealsotookpartintheStudentsforStudentsBagPacking Initiative,whichtookplaceintheJumeirahCollegeAuditorium.

TheParentPartnershipProgrammetakesplaceeachweekand offers15-minutebite-sizedsessionsonarangeoftopicsdesigned tostrengthentheconnectionbetweenhomeandschool.Our educatorsselecttopicsatthebeginningoftheacademicyear, researchthem,anddeliverengagingandpracticalpresentations toparents.Sessionsfor2025-26willcoverareassuchasexploring theKeyStage3curriculum,subject-specificguidance,and supportingyourchildwithGCSEandALevelsubjects,ledbyour HeadsofDepartment.Othertopicsincluderevisiontechniques, preparingformathematicaluniversityentranceexams,the importanceofphysicalexerciseonacademicsuccess,UCAS writing,choosingtherightGCSEs,andusingUnifrogforpathways research.
Toensureaccessibilityforall,mostsessionsareconductedonline viaTeams,allowingworkingparentstojoineasilyfromhomeor theoffice.Asign-uplinkissharedinadvance,followedbythe meetinglinkbeforeeachsession.Werecordeachonlinesession andsharetherecordingandPowerPointpresentationwithall registeredparents,allowingthemtorevisitthematerialintheir owntime.Ourteachersalsofrequentlyrecommendsubjectspecificpodcasts,whichweencouragefamiliestolistentoduring commutes.Inaddition,theArabicDepartmentleadsaweeklyinpersonArabiclanguagesessiontohelpnon-nativespeakers supporttheirchildren’slearningathome.Whilemostsessions remainvirtual,selectedtopicsareofferedinpersontoencourage discussionandprovidevaluableQ&Aopportunities.
TheJCPplaysavitalroleinstrengtheningourschoolcommunity throughawiderangeofengagingeventsandinitiativesthatbring families,staff,andstudentstogetherthroughouttheyear.OurJCP Iftar,bringsfamiliesfrombothJumeirahCollegeandJumeirah PrimarySchooltogetherontheJCcampustoshareameal, celebrateunity,andembracethespiritofRamadan.Thischerished eventreflectstheinclusiveandfamily,centredculturethatdefines ourcommunity.
Eachyear,theSpringFairisoneofourmostanticipatedoccasions, andthisyear,itwillevolveintoaWinterFair,takingplaceon Saturday,17thJanuaryatJumeirahPrimarySchool.Thisevent promisestobeadayfilledwithfamilyfun,games,entertainment, andcommunityspirit,withallproceedssupportingmeaningful causesandfutureprojects.Inaddition,theJCPorganisesavariety ofstudent-focusedevents,includingmovienightsanddiscos, creatingopportunitiesforstudentstosocialiseandcelebrate togetheroutsideoftheclassroom.
ThePTAalsotakesprideinhostinganInternationalWomen’sDay Breakfast,aspecialeventdedicatedtocelebratingourmothers andfemalecommunitymemberswhoinspireandcontributeto schoollifeincountlessways.Throughouttheyear,theJCP supportssportingandwellbeingactivitiesthatalignwiththeDubai FitnessChallenge,encouragingourfamiliestostayactive, connected,andhealthy.Toensurenoeventgoesunnoticed,our JCPBulletinissharedweeklyalongsideyear-group-specific updatesfromHeadsofYear.
TheGEMSFamilyFirstinitiativecelebratesthesenseofbelonging thatsitsattheheartofourschoolcommunity.Designedto strengthenthepartnershipbetweenhomeandschool,itoffers parentsaspacetoconnect,shareexperiences,andfeelpartof everydaylifeatJumeirahCollege.Atthecentreofthisinitiativeis ourFamilyFirstCafé,locatedinthemainreceptionarea,where parentsareinvitedtodropinfortheirmorningcoffeeandenjoya relaxedstarttotheday.Thecaféoperatesacoffeerewards systemandoffersarangeofFamilyFirstmerchandise,including ourbespokemugsfeaturingaQRcodethatlinksdirectlytoa digitalgalleryofstudentartworkfromacrosstheGEMSnetwork.
TheFamilyFirstCaféismorethanjustacoffeespot—itisahubfor conversation,creativity,andcollaboration.Parentscantakea quietmomentbeforetheirdaybegins,meetothermembersofthe community,andviewtherotatingdisplaysofartworkproducedby ourtalentedstudents.TheinitiativealsoincludesongoingFamily Firstcompetitions,whichencourageparticipationfromparents andstudentsalike,helpingtostrengthenrelationshipsand celebrateoursharedachievements.
Inadditiontothedailycaféexperience,wehostregularFamilyFirst coffeemorningsledbyourAssistantPrincipal,MsNikkiFord.These sessionsprovideanopportunitytoexploretopicsthatmattermost toourfamilies,fromwellbeingandstudentlifetoschoolinitiatives andupcomingevents.

One of the main things that strikes me whenever I enter the school, is the community feel. The pastoral care at Jumeirah College is truly excellent. When you walk around the school you can see the smiles on the faces of the students and many stop to say “good morning”.
