Life is easy in Båstad... För många år sedan var jag en sen natt på Jimmy’z i Monaco. Där träffade jag en grånande gentleman i en kritstrecksrandig linnekostym vid baren. Vi började samtala och han var en riktig Monegask, efter ett tag var jag tvungen att fråga: Hur är det egentligen att leva i Monaco? Han blev lite eftertänksam men svarade ändå ganska snabbt: ”Life is easy in Monaco” Det har varit ett omtumlande år i butiken med osäkerhet och turbulens. Men vi kan säga att det är tack vare alla ni kunder vi samlat på oss dessa 28 åren vi varit i Båstad som vi klarat oss under denna pandemi. Första gången jag var i Båstad var för 30 år sedan, en sommarkväll den 11 juni 1991, Det var en oförglömlig kväll på invigningen av Pepe´s Bodega, ett minimalt ställe nere i hamnen. En hamn som för övrigt var helt öde. Aldrig trodde jag att vi två år senare skulle öppna en butik här

och sex år därefter köpa vårt första hus.Och 30 år senare fortfarande bo kvar.

Classy Busnel Busnel was created and established by Monsieur and Madame Busnel, in France 1920. Initially by first building their own factory at the west coast of France, possessing the wish to create a lifestyle brand with the highest quality of wool. Shortly after, the fisherman’s sweater became an trademark for the brand. Busnel supplied the French army during the second world war19391945. During 1970, Anita Falkenberg brought Busnel to Scandinavia. She established the agency for the brand located in Stockholm, and consequently Scandinavia became the leading market between the decades of 1970-2000.When Anita first introduced Busnel 1970, the knitted Victoria Jacket with golden anchor buttons became a significant symbol for the breakthrough of the modern woman during that time. Today, Busnel’s heritage is essential, as the focus still lays on high quality, luxury fabrics and clean silhouettes for the chic and sophisticated woman. In 2009 Anita’s daughter Louise Falkenberg bought Busnel, aiming to carefully rejuvenate the brand. The following years, Busnel has continued to grow and the main focus is still slow fashion and high quality wool that will last a lifetime.The brand is a well known brand in Scandinavia, with a growing position on the European market. Uniquely, with a production of the knitted styles in the same factory that was established 1920 by Monsieur and Madame Busnel at the west coast of France.

Ikonen och designern, Karl Lagerfeld gick bort för 2 år sedan.. Han blev 85 år gammal och mest känd för sin post som chefsdesigner för modehuset Chanel. Efter lämnar han sig ett unikt och distinkt modearv, men också en en persona som var tydlig, professionell och väldigt proaktiv.

Pony skin label, silver plated buttons and chainstitched hem. All on the exclusive Japanese Kurabo denim. Jacob Cohen is a true representation of the Tailored Jeans concept, down to the smallest detail, and strictly made in Italy. Its special washing is carried out at the brand owned laundry, where it undergoes a particular process free of any synthetic products. This laundry process is fundamental. To be able to obtain unique jeans, with the capital J, the Kurabo denim undergoes different treatments and repeated rinses; brushed, pinched, pressed; after each working stage, the garment is delivered into the expert hands of skilled workers, who carry out its washing by using only the very tough Greek pumice stone. Each collection comprises more than 20 different types of denim, amongst which there is the rather exclusive selvage one, and 45 different washings distinguishable for its repeated hand processing stages. Customer attention is in Jacob Cohen DNA, as its creator, Nicola Bardelle, states: “ I have created the ideal jeans, the ones I have always wanted to wear, comfortable, elegant and suited even for those who have little or no familiarity with denim”. In fact, each pair of jeans has an almost tailored look, instantly recognizable. The care and attention paid to the smallest detail is evident even from its presentation: the trousers, folded in a rectangular-shaped carton box, are enveloped in very fine Havana paper, you will also find a small cotton pouch holding a spool of thread of the same colour of the stitches, for any possible hems, and a pumice stone for any post-washing touch-ups. Real gems for the most demanding customer, a cloth for polishing the silver plated buttons and a silk pochette. The collection boasts also a limited edition, specially created for those of us who want to wear unique garments, available only in a limited number.

World famous Polo Bear!

It´s often mistaken that the story of the polo Bear started in1991 when it was announced to the world as a real Teddy Bear. The true story is that Ralph Laurens Brother Jerry Lauren who serves as creative director of men’s design, is a passionate collector of Steiff bears. (He estimates his collection to be at 30 to 40 bears, including six that he keeps on his bed.) In 1990, inspired by his collection, Jerry’s colleagues had a Steiff bear dressed in Jerry’s likeness—blue oxford shirt, tartan tie, cable-knit sweater—and presented it to him for his birthday. At the same time, a Western-inspired bear was presented to Ralph. (Upon seeing the two bears, as Jerry recalls, Ralph remarked, “You know what? I’m a preppy, too.”) A tradition was born, and every year both Ralph and Jerry are given a Steiff bear. The bears— inspired by Ralph’s personal style—wear clothes often made in the same factories as actual Ralph Lauren clothing. “They’re always his favorite gift,” Jerry says. As with so much in the World of Ralph Lauren, what appealed to Ralph in his own life made its way to the clothes, and in 1991 the Polo Bear appeared in two very different forms. The first was an actual teddy bear (“Preppy Bear”), produced in tandem with Steiff, and massively popular from the start. The teddy bears, in a limited run of 200, sold out of the Madison Avenue flagship in one weekend. The second iteration of the bear was as an icon that eventually appeared on everything from T-shirts and denim jackets to dress shirts and ties. No matter where the Polo Bear roams, he remains beloved—a whimsical, just slightly mysterious complement to our iconic signature pony. After all, as Jerry Lauren says, “Who doesn’t love a teddy bear?”
