Welcometothefirstissueoftheyear!Thereis somuchtobegratefulforinthesefirstfew monthsof2025.Mostprominently,weare excitedaboutthegroundbreakingatthe cornerofAbramsandReigerAve,whichwillbe thefuturehomeofournewbuilding.Thisnew spacewillfeatureaprominentcommunity entrance,threeclassroomsforourMontessoribasedpreschool,administrativeoffices,and thenewJacksonLivingCenterapartments. AsIreflectonthismilestone,Iamfilledwith gratitudeforallthepeopleanddecisionsthat havebroughtustothispoint.Ourteamhas shownincredibleadaptabilityandresilience, overcomingsetbackswhileholdingontothehopeofwhatwecouldachieve.I amfrequentlyremindedthatallthingsworkoutforgood,andweshouldlook forblessingseveninourdisruptionsandsetbacks.

JustdaysbeforeChristmasin2019,BarbaraBridgespackedupherlifeinCaliforniaand movedtoDallas.AfteranearlyretirementfromherroleasaServiceWorkeratStanford University,sherelocatedtoNorthDallasbutsoonfacedrisingrentcosts Inhersearchfora communitywhereshecouldtrulysettleinandconnect,Fowlerbecamethatplace “Ihad familyinCalifornia brother,mother,daughter,”Barbarashares.Asherfamilybegan movingtoTexas,Barbaraknewshewantedtobeclosertothem.Itwasabigchange,but familyisimportanttoher.
BarbaraarrivedatFowlerChristianApartments(FCA)readytoembracethisnewchapter, thoughthetransitiontooksometime.Gradually,thingsstartedfallingintoplace.“Ilovemy apartmentintheEbuilding it’speacefulandcomfortable,andIlikethelayout;itfeelslike home,”shesayswithasmile.
Beforelong,BarbaradiscoveredjusthowmuchFowlerhadtooffer Shequicklyimmersed herselfincommunitylife makingfriends,joiningactivities,andfindingjoyinthelittle things.“Wehavesomanyactivities!Bingo,trivia,TaiChi,knittingandcrochetingclub,and nowweevenhaveanewlinedanceclass,”shesaysexcitedly.“It’ssomuchfun itgetsyou moving,andIloveit!”Shealsoappreciatesthenewshuttleservicethatmakesiteasierfor residentstoattendtheseonsiteevents Beyondtheactivities,Barbaracherishesthedeep senseofconnectionatFowler.Shebelievesincheckingonherneighborsandbeingpartof somethingbigger.“Thisisn’tjustaplacetolive it’sacommunity,”shesays.“Peoplehere reallycareabouteachother.”
