Landscaping

ZAMIA ZAMIA is a landscaping project focused on designing and creating in harmony with Nature. Our mission is to develop sensitivity and appreciation of gardens and natural spaces. The experience of growing tropical flowers and foliages for export during the last 30 years, inspired us to intergrate our material for landscaping and green designs. CREATIVITY allows us to revive, renew, re-structure and maintain the vital space to breath. As Edward O. Wilson defined in the Biophilia hypothesis : “the contact with Nature is essential for human psychological development.” The ZAMIA gardens have a wide range of plants : ornamentals, trees, palms, bromeliads, tropical flowers, tropical foliages, groundcovers and rare specimens. The ZAMIA family team : Ilka María Hernández, designer and photography ; Julian Wiedenmann, landscape architect ; Thomas Wiedenmann, agricultural engineer and Lorenz Wiedenmann, marketing manager. foto: julswie

Colocasia esculenta The specific epithet, esculenta, means "edible" in Latin. Taro is related to Xanthosoma and Caladium, plants commonly grown as ornamentals, and like them it is sometimes loosely called ‘elephant ear’.
