NARRATIVE REPORT WEEK 1
Our first-day class observation was a fascinating experience that left me feeling excited about what's to come The observation proved to be interesting in various ways, igniting a sense of wonder and curiosity about the school's operations, the learning environment, the quality of teaching, and many other factors that contribute to the overall educational experience.
Sir Sanchez graciously allowed us to follow him to his grade-9 Pearl class and sit at the back. I was expecting a formal introduction, explaining our purpose for being there, but Sir immediately delved into the topic at hand. The topic covered economics, specifically the analysis of supply, the law of supply, factors affecting production costs, production function, and the price elasticity of demand and supply.

While observing the class, I noticed both positive and negative aspects. Teacher Sanchez's teaching was excellent, and he demonstrated expertise in the subject matter. His teaching techniques were particularly impressive, making complex topics easier to understand for the learners. The class was also interactive, with learners participating actively. However, I also noticed that some learners at the back were not paying attention, talking among themselves, working on their own business, or even dozing off. It was saddening to see that despite Teacher Sanchez's effort and loud voice, some learners did not take the class seriously
Furthermore, I observed that the classroom environment was not conducive to effective learning. The facilities and classroom organization needed improvement, and the environment was quite noisy, leading to distractions.
Overall, despite the few negative aspects observed, the first-day class observation experience was positive and exciting. It was a great opportunity to witness a skilled and experienced teacher in action, employing effective teaching techniques and fostering learner participation. The class provided insight into the learning environment, and there is room for improvement in terms of facilities, organization, and noise reduction. Nonetheless, the positive aspects of the class offer hope and potential for continued success in the school's educational endeavors.
