Closing the Gap Closing the Gap is the first major program of the Florida Housing Coalition’s Center for Racial Equity, through which the Coalition will partner with a community for two years to develop and implement strategies to close the racial gap in homeownership. As this issue touches every community throughout the state, this forum will model how practitioners and stakeholders can begin to frame and address this issue at the local level. These local efforts, taken together, will work to close Florida’s racial gap in homeownership.This forum will include an opening panel discussion where experts will discuss data and solutions from a national perspective. This panel will be followed by breakout sessions, seeking to answer questions and draw out potential solutions and strategies to be shared at the conclusion.
