$10,000 / $10,000 Our request of $20,000 will subsize the cost(s) of The Source’s 2021-2022 independent audit and renovations to Dignity Village. Our audit is prepared by Templeton & Company, a certified public accounting firm provides full financial disclosure of The Source’s programs. Dignity Village was purchased in December 2021; reconstruction is under way to renovate and restore 19 individual units. Remodeling includes, indoor and outdoor painting of each unit, replacing dry wall, updating air conditioning units, kitchens, and bathrooms.
The objective of an independent audit is to examine the 2021-2022 financial records including business transactions and accounting practices. An audit validates The Source’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability. Our audit verifies, assets, and liabilities and demonstrates compliance. It provides our trustees, constituents, donors, and partners a summary of incurred income and expenses throughout the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). With the lack of affordable housing in our community, the Dignity Village will provide affordable housing for individuals and families on a short or long-term basis. The village will provide safe and comfortable homes within one spacious and self-contained community and allow for client’s programs and services, prayer, and dining to be offered under one roof. Dignity Village is a real solution and value to the community. As part of our strategic plan, The Source conducts a yearly audit. It provides financial clarity of The Source’s programs and project. An audit demonstrates The Source’s dedication to our programs; it provides full disclosure of The Source’s finances and promotes trust.
Future Funding and sustainab ility of project:
Organizat ion History, Mission
Future funding will be made possible with the support of donors and partnerships within our community. The Source will continue to cultivate prospective donors and explore new funding opportunities to secure programs funds. The Source is devoted to long-term sustainability for all The Dignity Programs. Our mission is “to support and serve the community and lead individuals to a saving faith in Jesus Christ”. The Source, a Christian Ministry, began in 1995 originally serving the impoverished, offering free meals and Bible Study. Today, The Source has grown into a comprehensive 5,000 sq. ft. outreach facility open 7 days a week, serving 3 meals a day and addresses the complex needs of the poor and homeless in Indian River County. The Source works alongside non-profits, ministries, businesses, and governmental agencies to support and serve the poor and homeless. We offer life-changing possibilities to residents, including emergency hunger relief, clothing, counseling, support groups, Bible Study, hygiene products, showers, mail and telephone services, benefit referrals, and overnight refuge. As first responders, The Source provides critical care for physical, spiritual, civic, and social needs and works to transform lives in our community. Earlier this year, The Source suffered a terrible loss with the passing of our Assistant Executive Director and accountant, Maureen Archer.
The Source aims to fill a “gap” rather than overlapping or replicating activities, supporting the urgent needs of people in Indian River County. We provide real solutions for homeless individuals, our community and long-term sustainability of The Source’s Dignity Programs, including: •

Our Dignity Bus is the first of its kind in the country and provides temporary overnight shelter in 20 climate-controlled sleeping pods, seven nights a week to those otherwise living rough on the streets. Dignity Village was purchased in December 2021 and is currently under renovations. The village consists of 19 housing units and will provide affordable housing to individuals in need, safe, and Dignity Smiles offers members dental restoration services through our partnership with Dr. Sadesh Kumar and Dr. Thomas Balshi. Proper dentistry will make a difference in their confidence and their lives. Though their generosity, all dental care is provided free of charge.
