COLORING BOOK THESOURCE

The Source

The Source helps people in our community. Some of the people who come to The Source do not have a home to live in. Some are hungry. We help people in many different ways. The friends we help are called our Members. This coloring book is all about how The Source helps to make our community a better place.

DignityBus

Did you know that some busses have beds on them? That sounds crazy but it’s true! Dignity Busses give our members who do not have a home, a safe place to sleep at night.

Dignity Bus Across America

So far, The Source has built five busses. Three of them are in Vero Beach, Florida. The Source safely sleeps 55 people every night in our Dignity Busses. One bus is in Rhode Island and another bus is in Illinois.

DiningwithDignity

At The Source we teach our members how to cook and work in a restaurant in our Dining with Dignity Culinary Training Program.

CommunityWorks

We also teach our members other skills while giving back to our community, like pressure washing and sanitation services, to keep our city clean. This program is called Community Works.

DignityHospitality

Dignity Hospitality is the name of our program that teaches our members customer service skills and how to work at the front desk.

Graduation!

After 18 weeks, our students graduate from the Dining with Dignity program. We celebrate with a certificate of completion and cake!

Jobs

After students graduate from one of our programs we help them get jobs to work in the community and earn money.

SourceBucks

Members of The Source can earn something called Source Bucks, by doing chores around our facility. They can use the source bucks to buy items from our Dignity Market like clothes, shoes, bicycles, movie tickets, and prescriptions.

DignityFood Trucks

We have two food trucks that sell food in our community. This helps give our students opportunities to practice the kitchen skills they have learned in our program before getting employed.

Invention

The Source invented a sauce called Mo Sauce. This sauce was used in a Chicken Wing competition that we won 1st place in, twice. We use secret ingredients like pineapples and jalapenos to create this flavor, but don’t tell anyone because it’s a secret, shhh! Now we bottle and sell Mo Sauce in our community.

AwardWinning ChickenWings

DignityWellness

Can you guess the emotion these animal friends are feeling?

Our Dignity Wellness program helps our members to understand and process their emotions in healthy ways. They sit and talk to counselors and social workers to help them when they are having a hard time.

MusicandArt Therapy

There are different ways to help our members learn about themselves and their emotions. One of these ways is through Art and Music. We give our members a place and a space to express their creativity by painting, singing, writing songs and poems, drawing and making crafts.

DignitySmiles

Dr. Thomas Balshi is a retired prosthodontist who helped The Source start the Dignity Smiles program that provides dental care for our members who graduate our programs and are employed in the community.

Smiles help to return dignity to our members. The Dignity Smiles program partners with 9 local dentists who give our members brand new smiles and restore their confidence, absolutely free. A genuine smile is priceless.

Ministry

The Source is also a Church and we help teach people about Jesus Christ and how to be more like him by praying, loving, and serving others who need our help. We have bible study groups everyday at The Source.

Baptism

When someone decides to follow Jesus one of the ways they show their commitment is by getting baptized. Baptism looks like going under a body of water and coming back up. This represents washing away the old you and becoming a new person in Christ.

We have baptisms on Fridays at the Wabasso Causeway. Many of our members have decided to give their lives to Jesus and get baptized as part of their decision to move forward with their life and make better choices for their future.

DignityVillage HousingCommunity

Our ultimate goal is to create a safe place where our members can be surrounded with community, love and support and have a place to call home.
