At Tuck, we ’ re a dedicated, passionate, and creative team of seven who foster innovation and collaboration with our brand partners and, above all, with you, our valued clients. Together, we create spaces that epitomize style, timelessness, and sheer beauty.
WE ARE BRINGING THAT TUCKED IN FEELING TO YOU
Ten years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting a young couple, Jennifer Shea and Dave Gamble, who had just purchased their first home. Back then, it was just the two of them and their two tiny dogs no kids, no clutter, and like so many of us at the time, a love for an ethereal all-white interior
Over the years, their home like their lives evolved Two beautiful children joined the mix, the dogs stayed (thankfully!), and the oncesleek palette began to feel like it needed some ‘oomph’!
After a decade of layering in furnishings, art, and life, Jen and Dave reached out, eager for a refresh especially after spending so much time at home during the pandemic. Their kitchen, in particular, was calling out for attention. But a full renovation with a $50K price tag? Not in the cards.
I asked Jen: What if we could transform it for under $5,000, no new cupboards, no gut job? Would you be open to something a little outside the box? Her answer? She was all in!
Enter peel-and-stick tiles a phrase I never thought I'd pitch, let alone champion. But the result? Honestly, it even surprised me. A bold coat of black paint turned the kitchen into the dramatic anchor of the home and sparked the full main-floor refresh. From the sun-drenched dining area to the cozy living room, from the lightfilled sunroom turned office to the clever reinvention of their youngest daughter’s old bedroom now a moody, adult-friendly lounge (complete with a rum collection!) and sofabed the transformation is both practical and deeply personal.
Working with Jen and Dave again, a full decade later, has been an absolute joy. Their willingness to take creative risks, embrace colour and pattern, and repurpose what they already owned is the true spirit of TUCK IN. We hope you find inspiration in their story, and especially in their kitchen reno… without the reno.
SPACE REINVENTED
INSPIRATION FOR YOUR DREAM HOME
Welcome to Welcome to
Let the tour begin! JEN &DAVE’S HOME: FROM WHITE TO WOW!
What started as a classic firsthome setup (white kitchen, minimal fuss) has evolved Ten years and two kids later, into a bold, personality-packed refresh. In the pages ahead, you’ll see a once bland kitchen go black and green (yes, really), a dining & living room revived, a sunroom reimagined, and a spare 8’ x 10’ bedroom turned into an adult lounge with a rum bar and sofabed.
Jen & Dave’s kitchen had good bones: solid cabinetry, a functional layout, and perfect countertops In other words, it was exactly like so many kitchens, totally serviceable but lacking personality. Like many of us, Jen and Dave could have opted for a full renovation, but when it came down to it, they’d rather invest in life’s other priorities: travel, their kids’
activities, and everyday living. That’s where we came in.
The goal? Work with what was great and skip the demo. With a few clever updates peel-and-stick tiles, freshly painted cabinets, new hardware, and a swapped-out microwave we transformed this standard space into something entirely new No gut job required
The black cabinets, green backsplash, and gold accents give the kitchen a whole new personality truly a no-reno reno refresh!
“ ”
So we figured a full gut reno on the kitchen would be somewhere in the range of $50,000 or $60,000 and in the end, we spent just shy of $5,000 which is mindboggling to me!

Judith recommended three things: that we paint our cabinets, get a very inexpensive backsplash, and to get some new hardware. After, she even recommended tying in the wallpaper from our sunrooms back those cabinets.
Initially I was shocked that Judith recommended peel and stick tiles. But I mean, it's absolutely gorgeous, and we're thrilled with it!

Sometimes, the smallest changes make the biggest impact! Swapping out cabinet knobs is a quick and affordable way to refresh your kitchen without committing to a full renovation. This simple update can instantly elevate the look and feel of your space with minimal effort and cost.
We moved into this house nearly 10 years ago, putting off the kitchen because we assumed a full reno would be too expensive. Now, a decade later, we finally have a brand new kitchen, done affordably.

The dining room as seen from the kitchen, before the update.
The dining room just steps from the kitchen has always been the heart of Jen and Dave’s home In the early days, we collaborated with Brent Rourke to create a timeless, handcrafted dining table as the anchor. But with two little ones in tow, practicality reigned: acrylic chairs, no rug, and a gallery wall of wedding and
family photos in place of investment art. Fast forward to today, with the kids a bit older and spaghetti sauce less of a threat, Jen was ready for a cozier, more grown-up vibe. Form still meets function, but with a lot more mood. See the AFTER on the next pages!
We brought in a beautiful rug to soften the s introduced wipeable (but supremely comfor chairs, and dialed up the drama with a bold wall, showcasing a commissioned installatio Jen’s favourite artists, Jessica Connors

TABLE - BLACK
Much like the dining room, the wall above the fireplace was painted black to claim its role as a striking centerpiece. The repetition of these bold, dark walls ties together Jen and Dave’s home with a clear, contemporary flow.

I love how the black in the kitchen ties in with the living room fireplace, the dining room, and the wallpaper. The mix of black and green created an atmosphere in our home that we absolutely love.

Ten years ago, the sunroom saw the biggest transformation in Jen and Dave’s new home gone was the dark burgundy walls left behind by the previous owners! We revamped the space with a bright, ethereal palette that brought light and calm into the space
Fast forward a decade, and the sunroom has taken on a new role especially during the pandemic, when Jen spent countless hours working from home here Over time, the garden just beyond its windows bloomed into a lush, cultivated haven of flowering shrubs and colour. Naturally, Jen wanted the inside to reflect the outside. Follow along for our recommendations and AFTER photos!
Before the changes, the sunroom was light and airy, but not yet a reflection of Jen and Dave’s personality.
Enter the showstopper: Diderot Wallpaper. Inspired by the famed French encyclopedist, this magical design features a dreamy collection of exotic botanical specimens frogs, caterpillars, butterflies, and trailing leaves all perfectly in sync with the view beyond the windows. It was the bold, botanical embrace this hardworking space was waiting for

We kept the beloved Gus* Lodge Chairs still in perfect condition, a testament to thoughtful investment and layered in a few fresh cushions, a new light fixture, and a discreet desk and chair combo The result? A space that feels new, yet entirely familiar. As if it was always meant to grow alongside the garden just outside. See the AFTER photos next!
The repeated Diderot Wallpaper and a touch of greenery complete the sunroom, bringing life and character. Sometimes, the simplest solutions make the biggest difference.
EASY WAY TO ADD CHARACTER TO YOUR SPACE
Colorful furniture and decor can help ground bright and airy spaces. Each vibrant piece brings character, creating contrast and depth to the lightfilled space!
The bonus room, before the refresh.
Once a typical child’s bedroom, this 8' x 10' space underwent the transformation of them all!
With their youngest daughter now in a larger room, Jen and Dave saw the opportunity to reclaim this space for themselves and we ran with it.
The vision? A boutique-hotel-inspired lounge just for the grown-ups (and occasionally, lucky overnight guests thanks to the comfy sofabed). We leaned all the way into the black and green palette that
threads through the rest of the main floor, enveloping the room in bold wallpaper, deep tones, and of course a full coat of Twilight Zone on every surface.
Moody, warm, and wrapped in character, this room is now the perfect spot for Jen and Dave to unwind with a nightcap, watch Netflix, or simply close the door and exhale.
We’re head over heels for bold, artistic floral patterns here are a few striking additions to explore, consider, and fall in love with.
