February 16. 2024 / Adar I 7, 5784 Dear Friends, On behalf of the Rabbinical Association, we would like to congratulate our dear colleagues and friends, Rabbi Judith Siegal and Jonathan Fisch for their decades of service to Temple Judea in particular, but moreover to the Jewish community of Miami-Dade County. The Jewish spiritual leadership of both Rabbis Siegal and Fisch is a model to all of their colleagues. Together, they have created a warm, spiritual, creative, and inclusive community for people of all backgrounds and ages. Rabbi Siegal built upon the previous strong traditions of her rabbinic predecessors, and under her stewardship has grown steadily. The board was wise in brining on Rabbi Fisch, whose energy and warmth is evident to all who know him. Together they have provided a place to celebrate, to mourn, to pray and to come together during some of the most difficult and uncertain times in American Jewish history. When it comes to Israel, they have always said heneinu, here we are, and have exhibited in word and deed their unwavering commitment to the State of Israel. Temple Judea is fortunate to be the recipients of their wisdom, their guidance, but most of all their humanity and menschlechkeit. The honors they are receiving this weekend cannot even begin to acknowledge the impacts they have had, and continue to have, on the thousands of people they have served with tireless dedication. Rabbis Siegal and Fisch’s impact extend beyond the synagogue. Whether it be the Greater Miami Jewish Federation or interfaith affairs, both have played instrumental roles. The Rabbinical Association is fortunate for Rabbi Siegal’s many years of executive leadership on the Rabbinical Association board, and we are honored she currently serves with distinction as our President. Tonight, we honor their families as well; we recognize all the sacrifices they have made to enable this sacred work, and we say, todah. The entire community of Rabbinic leadership share in today’s simcha celebration. May you go from strength to strength. Mazal Tov!
