I am delighted to introduce our 44th Stallion Brochure where Simon Mockridge and Garrett O’ Rourke report on another successful year for our stallions.
Last year concluded with Bluestocking’s Arc de Triomphe triumph and this year has concluded with Scylla winning the Breeders’ Cup Distaff and Kalpana’s British Champions Fillies & Mares win for the second year running. Whilst our very highest spring dreams may not quite have all been met, many have and we have had another good year on the track where, led by Field of Gold, Kalpana, Scylla, Lead Artist, Qirat, Jonquil and Latakia, we have had 23 Group wins and 40 Group places. To date, we have had 36 stakes wins, we were second in the GB Owners’ table behind Godolphin (the last time that was achieved was in 2012) and we maintained our third position in the USA Owners’ table, behind Godolphin and Klaravich Stables by total earnings for 2025. Thank you to all our trainers who have played such a pivotal part in this success.
We are proud that our achievements have been recognised by the industry with Laurel River and the Juddmonte International at York taking Longines “World’s Best” accolades and with three awards at the UK Thorougbred Breeders’ Association Flat Breeders’ Awards, one of which was to Simon Mockridge who was honoured with the Dominion Bronze in recognition of his outstanding contribution and long-term commitment to the industry. Other notable highlights were Frankel’s 100th Northern Hemisphere individual Group winner in August and Kingman’s 100th Northern Hemisphere individual stakes winner in September.
We have further strengthened our team this year with the appointments of Ed Sackville as Head of European Sales and six time Irish Champion jockey Colin Keane as our European retained jockey.
In summary, the business of Juddmonte remains in admirable health and, with many horses being kept in training and the introduction of Lead Artist to our European stallion roster, we can look forward to 2026. Once again, on behalf of the Owners, I would like to pay tribute to and thank our outstanding staff who are at the heart of our consistent record.
The biggest thank you is to you our friends, clients and breeders for your continuing support in helping to make Juddmonte what it is today and will continue to be.
Douglas Erskine Crum CE O JUDDMONTE GROUP
Joining the European roster in 2026 is the Gr.1-winning miler LEAD ARTIST. By world-class sire of sires Dubawi and from one of Juddmonte’s most storied families, the dynasty of the iconic blue hen mare Hasili, he hails from a stallion-making pedigree. Hasili herself produced five individual Gr.1 winners as well as the influential sire Dansili, and her descendants have now accounted for no fewer than 59 Gr.1 performances.
Lead Artist operated at a consistently high level throughout his career, his crowning moment coming in the stallion-making Gr.1 Lockinge Stakes, which he won in the second-fastest time in its history. In winning that prestigious mile event Lead Artist defeated a top-class field, amongst them were four Gr.1 winners, including Guineas winners Rosallion, Notable Speech, and Fallen Angel.
CHALDEAN welcomed his first foals to glowing reports. He covered 323 mares in his first two books, covering more Group winners, stakes winners, and blacktype performers than any other first-season sire in Britain or Ireland in his debut year, and maintained that momentum in 2025 with another exceptional book, including 14 Group winners, 28 stakes winners, and 52 blacktype performers.
FRANKEL added a further 24 individual stakes winners to his record in 2025, 13 of them at Group level. He has now sired an extraordinary 40 individual Gr.1 winners and stands as the most successful active sire of Northern Hemisphere Classic winners, with 12 to his name, including 2025 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Lake Victoria and dual Oaks winner Minnie Hauk. His success also continues in the sales ring, where for the third year in a row he topped the Tattersalls October Book 1 sires by both by aggregate and by average.
KINGMAN continued to assert his status among the elite, siring 22 individual stakes winners in 2025, including nine Group winners. He became the second-fastest stallion ever to reach 100 Northern Hemisphere-bred stakes winners — behind only Frankel. His brilliant son Field Of Gold reigned supreme in the Irish 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes, taking Kingman’s tally to 14 Gr.1 winners, and five individual Classic winners.
A stalwart of the Juddmonte roster, OASIS DREAM remains a force to be reckoned with, completing his 22nd stud season with an impressive 82% fertility rate. Of stallions still active in Britain, only Dubawi and Frankel have sired more Gr.1 and Group winners. He also continues to excel as a broodmare sire, of over 230 blacktype performers and 17 Gr.1 winners.
BATED BREATH remains a model of consistency, operating at 62% winners-to-runners rate and 9% blacktype horses-to-runners. In 2025 he sired nine stakes performers, headed by Gr.2 Richmond Stakes and Gr.1-placed Coppull. Other notable juveniles include the stakes performers Suspicious Mindz and Waiting For You.
In the USA, dual Breeders’ Cup winner and Champion Sprinter ELITE POWER continues to prove popular, covering more than 360 mares across his first two seasons. His first foals arrived this year from a stellar debut book that included five Champions and over 25 Gr.1 winners or producers.
MANDALOUN’s first yearlings came to market this autumn, realising up to seven figures. A highlight was a colt out of No Joke, sold for $1,000,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale, a strong endorsement of his appeal in the commercial marketplace.
