When Beeple’s NFT Jpeg sold for $69 million dollars in an online Christie’s auction, the world took note. For those engaged in gaming and entertainment, AR and VR already incorporate the ability to purchase unique merchandise, adding to their own private collection. NFT art sales simply raised the bar.

“NFTs provide an opportunity to curate your own galleries and as the newcomers, they challenge how we perceive and register ownership of assets.”

When customers buy art from an NFT platform, they are able to display it with the knowledge that there is no issues with copyright or originality because the NFT and blockchain ensures that ownership is authentic.

Putting these items into NFTs with a clear transaction history back to the artist may overcome the rampant counterfeiting problem.

DEATH MERCHANT - NFT INTRODUCTION SERIES Scanned and digitally remastered original works of art

The NFT series of DEATH MERCHANT is based on a 1986 airbrush original exploring the ‘pusher’ aspects and the endless seduction and price of death. While Dismukes worked in airbrush on prepared board, he always envisioned his work in a 3D realm. The technology in the early 80’s didn’t support his ability to explore that. Today, Dismukes is a master 3D artist and has been revisiting early works bringing them into a 2D/3D world and allowing him to refine the mechanics. The first in a series, Dismukes has carefully reworked the master illustration.

DEATH MERCHANT “THE ELEMENTS” - NFT 2D SERIES Limited Edition NFT Series

Exploring themes of nature, fire, water, sky, Dismukes has artistically executed an NFT series based on the original Death Merchant, a 1983 airbrush original.

Dismukes recreated the original work entirely using a range of complex 3D software programs, enhancing the mechanics and adding detail that airbrush and friskets simply couldn’t deliver. Dismukes was able to go beyond the 2D by exploring the full bust of Death Merchant, thinking out what he’s look like in full rotation. The result is a masterful, complex series.

Lucas merchandising saw what John did with the Batman franchise which led John and Tom Zotos to secure the Star Wars contract which was also a huge success.

After the success of the Batman gallery show and being broadcasts on television and written about in newspapers John received many offers from galleries agents and PR agents the galleries wanted to sell John’s original art one thing John does not do is sell original art he retains his full collection to this day. John was offered over $60,000 for the original Batman painting in 1990, he declined the offer.

One of the calls received was from a PR agency headed by Lexi Kapp who is absolutely brilliant and so much fun she was also Sly Stallone’s and Mickey Rourke’s agent to put John the circuit which means they would fly him over for live events parties endorsements more parties such as Ron and Darcy Tropicana wedding event.

Crocker Art Museum Sacramento California 1978 John was visiting his parents after graduating in 1978 as always when he was in Sacramento he went to the Crocker Art Gallery, it just so happened they were having a student competition and the winner would be able to show in the Crocker Art Gallery John submitted three works of art that he had completed at San Diego State, and two of them were accepted for exhibition the one that was not was considered too risqué. “ Yeah I was really stoked that I got into the best museum in Sacramento, my mother was so proud she invited all of her friends to go to the museum with her”.

Star Wars at the Smithsonian’s air and space Museum In 1994 John was approached by Zanart publishing to produce two limited-edition lithographs based on Darth Vader and Boba Fett. The direction was simple we want the JTD dramatic in-your-face style. As always John wanted to add something different he would introduce flat graphic elements to his hyper realism painting style.

We were invited to the Lucas Ranch for inspiration and to meet with George Lucas touring the ranch was one of the highlights of John’s career. Response to John’s work was phenomenal in fact it was so well accepted that it would be part of Star Wars 20th anniversary which showcased 250 movie props models and artwork. John would also produce two more limited edition for Star Wars entitled the ship series and an original piece called trilogy

THE GREATEST ALBUM COVERS THAT NEVER

The greatest album covers that never were

This was one of those fun projects that I really got into, it’s 2003 and I get a call from Craig Butler and Michael Oakes, Craig explains the project, he wants to get together the top album illustrators and have them pick their favorite group and do an album cover with total freedom no art directors no censorship total freedom “I guarantee it will” The reason I know this is the industry had changed drastically over the past decade many of the companies especially in the music industry had let their top art directors go to save money. What replace these are directors were either Junior or people with no experience and design was by committee and controlled by accounting the being counters. Now I voice been lucky as I’ve had my own projects to constantly only give me freedom but also financial stability. So the bottom line is Craig and Michael contact the top 50 rock ‘n roll artist and they jump at the chance to do their favorite group with no restrictions.

So not only do I do a key piece of art of course I picked Ozzy Osbourne I also do the cover merchandise and website.

The shows are a huge hit the tours the world for over two years culminating at the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame. So the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame invites the key artist to do a panel discussion there at the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame it was myself Craig Butler Michael Oakes John van hammers filled, Linda Art Center, the guy that did the cowboy, it was a lot of fun spending time with people of like minds So the kind of funny I return to the place I was born Ohio some 30 or so years later being honored at the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame. Ya it is a long way to the top if you want to rock ‘n roll, yeah 30 years later!!

In my drawing — Ozzy reigns supreme, enveloped by demons and angels – good and evil. There’s balance, symmetry and chaos quintessentially married into one piece. Is he THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS or The king of light ?

If you read books, comic books or magazines, you’ve seen John’s work Terminator Hunter’s and killers published by dark horse or the classic Freddie’s dead the final nightmare featuring Freddy Kruger are on to you of the comic books John designed the covers for. John is one of many awards for hardback cover designs for number one sellers such as Gregory Ben Ford tides of light, curious golf and many more, Jennifer Fallon had to have John design her series second sons trilogy, John cover for the boyfriend at four Harper Collins was another smash hit, and when the Robb report turned 25 years old who did they call, you guessed it, John Taylor Dismukes.

“Rock and roll is the fuel for all of my art,” When you ask John what are your favorite industries to work in the will tell you” I love all the industries I work in, if I didn’t I wouldn’t work in them” but the industry I absolutely love it and have a passion for is a music industry it’s like working with like minds, artist are a blast to work with because they are as passionate of their work as am with mine the only difference between music and art is the pallets I paint with pigment the paint with notes.

I’m so excited about the rock ‘n roll series, picked my favorite album covers and have restored each one of them is gorgeous. Over the years I have literally gotten thousands of letters and email’s asking for prints or T-shirts.

It took a lot of years and a lot of blood sweat and beers to produce this Art and LEGENDS OF ART GALLERIES is the first company that has the same quality control as we do.
