Our Pledge to Jersey Children and Young People There are 15,000 children and young people living here in Jersey, representing a significant percentage of our island community. We recognise the important role our organisation can play in ensuring our young people grow up in a safe environment that helps them flourish. Following publication of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry in July 2017, we have been working hard with other partners and key stakeholders in responding to the inquiries findings and developing an island wide Children’s and young people plan due to be published later this year. Four main outcomes for the plan have been agreed, which include; Grow up safely | Live healthy lives | Learn and achieve | Are seen and heard Over and above our commitment to the island wide Children and Young People plan, we wanted to make our own personal organisational Pledge to all children and young people against these 4 outcomes during the next 2 years, alongside our broader Policing Plan for the same period where we already commit to the findings and recommendations of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry. In setting out our Top Ten pledges to our children and young people, we have had the benefit of considering the feedback to the recent Children’s Commissioners questionnaire. We look forward to delivering against these pledges on the reverse side
