Several years ago, our faculty created the Portrait of a Titan, a powerful statement that

articulates our highest aims for the people we hope our children will become as a result of their time at St. Timothy’s School. It included a commitment to solving problems with diligence and creativity; embracing faith and reason in pursuit of truth; leading healthy, joyful lives; treating all people with dignity, respect, and compassion; and loving and serving God and one another.

However, about a year later, we realized that we’d failed to include one other essential value that we strive to instill in our students. So, we updated one line—”Lead healthy lives with joy and gratitude.”

Gratitude is essential. Some days, gratitude flows readily and naturally. Other days, it requires intentionality. As our students have heard in any number of chapel services: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

Indeed, every day is a gift, and there are lots of reasons to be glad!

I hope that you are inspired to look through the pages of this Annual Report with gratitude. I certainly am. The generosity of our St. Timothy’s parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees, colleagues, and friends has been unsurpassed and transformative.

Two new activity buses, new SmartBoards in every lower school classroom, whiteboard walls and science equipment, campus security enhancements, teachers traveling across the country to attend professional conferences that they’ve said were the best of their careers—these and so many other wish list items were fulfilled over the last year thanks only to our community’s incredible generosity.

I’m certainly grateful for all of this, but even more so for the extraordinary impact it all creates for our children. Delivering on the promises of our Portrait of a Titan is serious work, but I can imagine nothing more significant or rewarding for my colleagues and me. With gratitude, I offer my most sincere thanks for all that you do to make this work possible.

St. Timothy’s School Annual Fund Each year, St. Timothy’s asks our community to give as generously as possible to the St. Timothy’s School Annual Fund. Contributions help enhance academic programs for students, provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, support technology in classrooms and upgrade campus facilities.

Parents, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Former Parents, Grandparents, Board of Trustees and Friends all support the St. Timothy’s Annual Fund.

MEET OUR DONORS Edwin and Claudia Cadet “St. Timothy’s school mission to provide the highest educational experience for our children is extremely dependent on the financial health of the Annual Fund. Programs such as continuing education for our teachers, educational material resources, up to date technology, maintenance of the school property, and countless others, either thrive or fall based on the financial strength of the Annual Fund. We feel a strong responsibility to do our small part to help encourage St.Timothy’s nurturing environment by continuing to contribute to the Annual Fund. Furthermore, we have chosen to support St. Timothy’s altruistic mission by donating annually to support our sister school in Haiti, a country that has been struck with financial, geographic and political devastation for decades. This is a cause that I feel very passionate about. As a first-generation Haitian-American, I have personally witnessed the depths of poverty of the Haitian people when visiting Haiti in my youth.

Every dollar donated to support Saint Timothee’s school has an exponential effect on bettering the school conditions and educational experience for the youth that attend the school. We urge all families to consider contributing to the Annual Fund to better the educational experience for all of our St. Timothy’s students at home and abroad. Finally, please consider earmarking contributions in support of the Saint Timothee’s School in Haiti.”

John and Sara McTyeire “When we were looking at schools for our daughter Holland nine years ago, we immediately gravitated to St. Timothy’s.

It was obvious to us that it was a special community and the type of educational environment we wanted for our children. Now an 8th grader, it’s hard for us to believe that she will be moving on after being a Titan since Kindergarten, but we know that St. Timothy’s has instilled in her positive core values and prepared her academically for the next part of her educational and social journey. We also know that St. Timothy’s is doing the same for our son Walker (4th grade), and giving to the Annual Fund is an important way for us to help ensure that continues for him and the other students in the St. Timothy’s community. The Annual Fund is critical in maintaining and enhancing so many things that work collectively to make St. Timothy’s such a special place -- academic programs, professional development for faculty and staff, technology, facilities, and more. We’ve also been pleased to be able to leverage company matching gift opportunities in our giving. Company matches provide a great way to further increase support, and we encourage others to utilize those opportunities if available for the Annual Fund or campaigns like the Day of Giving. MEET OUR DONORS Steve and Joanne Brown “Our family has been a part of the St. Timothy’s School community since 1994 with Joanne having been on staff as a teacher for 24 years. Our daughters, Mallory and Jordan, received a wonderful education here and presently, Jordan teaches music for grades Pre-K through first grade. We are so grateful we were able to participate in the Grandparent Challenge in 2023, and we intend to continue doing so in the future. With our two granddaughters, McKenzie and Bridget, now attending St. Timothy’s, we feel supporting this special school is a worthy investment not only for our family, but countless others.”

ST. TIMOTHY’S ANNUAL REPORT

Titan Golf Classic 2023 On Monday, May 8, 2023, nearly 100 golfers teed off for our Titan Golf Classic at The Hasentree Club.

Parents, grandparents, friends of the school, alumni and several teachers joined in on the friendly competition in support of St. Timothy’s School.

Participants took part in a raffle with lots of wonderful prizes from local vendors.

We also held a Bubbles by the Bunker event for parents to participate in who were not playing golf, which was a fun time had by all!

Once the scores were tallied, Head of School Tim Tinnesz announced the first-place winners.

SERVICE BEYOND OUR SCHOOL: Partnering with Haiti

A partner to St. Timothy’s since 2016, Saint Timothee School nurtures and educates more than 150 children in the remote village of Boucan-Carré in Haiti. St. Timothy’s School supports our partner by providing funds for students’ noontime meal– often their only meal for the day, teacher salaries, potable water and more. In addition, St. Timothy’s faculty and staff have visited the school, bringing educational materials, recreation equipment and other supplies.
