THE JOY OF GIVING

We are an intentionally inclusive community that seeks to model God’s love and grace. We offer all students the strongest academic, intellectual, and spiritual foundations to guide them throughout their lives.
WE ARE A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL THAT WELCOMES CHILDREN OF ALL FAITHS AND NO FAITH TRADITION.
We worship and pray together in the Episcopal tradition, and our middle school Religious Studies classes examine Christianity and other major world religions from an academic perspective While all students will learn about the teachings of Jesus and the core beliefs of Christianity, we respect each family’s personal choices on matters of faith
WE EMBRACE FAITH AND REASON IN THE PURSUIT OF TRUTH AND MEANING.
We encourage students to begin exploring lifelong questions of existence, purpose, and meaning, hopeful that they will see how faith and reason might complement each other in this pursuit. This requires that we provide them with the strongest academic and intellectual foundations in science, math, literature, history, languages, and the arts
WE TEACH THAT LOVING AND SERVING OTHERS IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF OUR CALLING.
Based on a belief that every person is uniquely created in the image of a loving God, we teach our students that they are called to treat all people with dignity, respect, and compassion. Our core belief in action-oriented love drives our extensive community service and servant leadership efforts, as well as our commitment to community and belonging within our own school community

Moving from Florida to North Carolina, we searched for a school for our two boys, and our hearts led us to St. Timothy’s. We found a school with high academics, arts and music, athletic opportunities and personal attention. Attention not only to our sons but to us as parents joining a community. We continue to support St. Timothy’s so that other families may continue to be blessed with the experience, support and excellence that St. Timothy’s provides.

St Timothy's has truly become a special community for our family, and we are honored to support the St Timothy's Annual Fund As parents and a member of the Friends Executive Board, we have had the privilege of collaborating with fellow volunteers and the school's exceptional staff We believe that what sets St Timothy's apart is its commitment to creating a safe, joyful, and welcoming environment for every student From the front office to the classrooms, the warm and caring spirit can be felt in every corner of the school. Our children have thrived in this nurturing community they are truly known, and we feel confident that the school genuinely cares about their well-being and success Helping St Timothy’s continue to be a safe and welcoming place for all students is deeply important to our family, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support the Annual Fund’s mission S C O T & A L I S O N H U M P H R E Y

As grandparents who believe that education is a core component of positioning our grandchildren and, more broadly speaking, all children for the future, we are so happy that Audrey and James, and soon Owen, are part of the St. Timothy’s family. From our very first visit to St. Timothy’s, while helping our children evaluate schools as they were moving into the area, we’ve been impressed with the comprehensive approach of academics, community, service, the arts, athletics, and a basis of faith to solidify it all
We are also very pleased with how St Timothy’s approaches the importance of parental engagement and even grandparent engagement with Grandparents’ Day and other opportunities aimed at reinforcing the importance of family participation in the development of the children Every teacher we’ve met demonstrates a passion for helping children learn and develop It is a delight to interact with them As we look at our opportunities to give back, we could not be happier as proud contributors to St Timothy’s on behalf of our grandchildren and every child they help position for success and contribution in their future Go, Titans!

As Raleigh natives, we’ve always known about St Timothy’s School When it came time to think about kindergarten for our daughter, we decided to take a tour, and from the moment we stepped inside, we could feel the warmth and kindness of everyone we met We left that day knowing it was the right place for our family
By our second year at St Timothy’s, we became Corporate Partners, and it’s been such a rewarding way to give back We already loved the school, and supporting programs that make our daughter’s education even better just felt natural. Through partnership events, we’ve had the chance to meet other families who also run small businesses, which has been a wonderful way to build community.
We have to admit it is pretty fun to surprise your child when they spot your company’s banner hanging in the gym! Becoming a Corporate Partner has allowed us to support St. Timothy’s mission while giving back through our business, and we couldn’t be happier to be part of it.

The greenhouse connects directly to our environmental science curriculum, empowering students to think critically about the world around them.
Conservation: Students will practice sustainable gardening techniques, from composting and water collection to caring for native and pollinator-friendly plants They will see firsthand how small daily choices preserve the resources we all depend on
Innovation: This space allows students to experiment with new ideas testing soil health, exploring renewable energy solutions, and designing systems that model future-minded environmental practices.
Service: The greenhouse will be a hub of community connection From growing produce to share, to leading younger students in garden lessons, to caring for the plants together, our Environmentalism Club and student body will use the greenhouse to serve our campus and community
Our new on-campus greenhouse is a living classroom where students can cultivate curiosity, resilience, and responsibility.
Just as every seed needs soil, water, and sunlight to thrive, our students will use this space to grow their knowledge and character through hands-on learning experiences
Much like the plants inside, our students will grow stronger with consistent care, curiosity, and purpose. We are grateful to our Annual Fund supporters who made this vision possible. Their generosity has provided our students with a place where learning is rooted in growth and blooms into action

Not only am I excited to utilize the greenhouse for 7th grade science and the Environmentalism Club, but I am also grateful for the opportunity to elevate other curricula to push environmental lessons from Pre-K all the way to 8th grade to plant seeds for both science and service in our community.

We have been lucky to work with two terrific young educators through our Teaching Fellows program thanks to the Annual Fund Last year's fellows, Abby Rinehard ‘17 and Emma Gerden, played vital roles at St. Timothy's School. Emma, partnered with fifth grade language arts teacher Lisa Kinlaw, helped us further develop our middle school writing program Abby, partnered with third grade teacher Kyla Brazel, was a jack of all trades, providing support in numerous ways across the lower school. Both have moved on to positions at local area schools

I had the opportunity to attend the Bridges Leadership Institute in Aurora, Colorado This four day conference provided engaging activities and tools to help me create an equitable environment during my math lessons for all students to be mathematicians, learn from and grow with one another, and have fun doing it. I was able to meet and learn from inspiring presenters and amazing teachers around the US and world who made these experiences that much more meaningful

Our faculty are always looking for ways to improve their teaching practice in the classroom to better support all of our students Faculty participated in training on The Regulated Classroom approach, incorporating the latest research in child development and well-being into practical strategies for the classroom. Teachers explored how regulating practices can help both students and teachers to destress and improve overall readiness for learning.
The regulated classroom equips us educators with practical tools to support self-regulation, creating a calmer, more focused learning environment for all This is essential not only for academic success but also for fostering emotional safety, building resilience, and supporting students’ mental health!

Greet the Week is one of the only times that our whole school is able to be together It is an important community gathering songs are played, prayers are spoken, jokes are told, and accomplishments are celebrated This weekly gathering really would not be possible without a good speaker system The speaker system that the school had been using for Greet the Week was functional but quite cumbersome Chaplain Steven and I often tackled set-up together, but if I had to do set-up alone, it was particularly challenging At one point, the setup involved me standing on a bench, lifting one of the heavy speakers over my head to put it on the stand (because the retractable stand was broken), and hoping that no one would find me pinned on the ground under said speaker later that day. I also had notes in my phone to try to keep track of where the nine cords were supposed to go. The setup and teardown would take about an hour, and this posed an extra challenge on days when I taught class first period. Then Steven had the amazing idea to see if we could get a new speaker. He put this very transportable, easy-to-set-up speaker on the Annual Fund wish list, and to our surprise and absolute delight, it was purchased! I now no longer have visions of speakerrelated injuries, and the setup is quick and painless My Monday morning has been freed, allowing me to meet with Chapel Guild members The speaker's sound quality is excellent, and Greet the Week is better than ever Chaplain Steven and I are both so grateful for this new system!

Our new early years playspace has been specifically designed with our youngest Titans in mind At STS, we know that learning continues through play outside of the classroom Outdoor play fosters social-emotional growth for all of our students as they engage in cooperative play with their peers. These spaces also provide opportunities for students to take reasonable risks and grow physically as they play The new equipment will encourage our Pre-K and Kindergarten students to jump, climb, crawl and explore in our new nature-inspired space.
We are excited to add a new outdoor play option for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students Having a conveniently located space that is specially designed for their sizes, abilities, and interests will provide even more opportunities for students to stretch their imaginations and engage in play with their friends.

We are so grateful for the expanded possibilities brought by the new Hale Hall Pavilion. While this area has long served our STS families and visitors as a convenient spot for students awaiting afternoon carpool, we are thrilled that it is now so much more a campus space that the entire community can enjoy all the time
We are truly thankful for this new structure, which offers a plethora of opportunities to enhance the daily life of our school. We anticipate the joy it will bring as it transforms, as needed, into a spot for daily snacks and picnic lunches, an inspiring setting for outdoor class meetings and Middle School advisory, and a central location for whole-school community events Whether it's the Back-to-School BBQ, the Fall Festival, or a recent reception honoring our 2024-25 Annual Fund giving leaders, we are deeply appreciative to have a versatile, new area to gather, learn, and celebrate together

The St. Timothy’s School Annual Fund is the cornerstone of our yearly fundraising efforts. We are grateful for the continued support of parents, grandparents, Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, former parents, and friends each year The commitment and generosity of donors strengthen every part of our school community and help provide an exceptional experience for every student, every day All donors who give $1,000+ throughout the year are invited to the Leadership Giving Celebration the following fall
Members of the St. Timothy’s Leadership Giving Circle are among the school’s most transformative donors to the STS Annual Fund through a three-year pledge commitment. We are grateful for these thoughtful donors who boldly contribute to the fulfillment of the school’s vision.
