Robotics Club

President: Ethan Waters

We are the premier club at JCU for all things robotics. We have a lab room which gives the space and resources for students to work on fun projects. We have robot soccer competitions throughout the year where you battle for supremacy on the pitch. We also have, in the past, done robotic workshops for kindergarten kids, prepping for the future.

JCU robotics club is the student branch for IEEE (Internation Electrical and Electronics Engineers), which makes us an excellent resource for getting involved in the greater world of engineers post-university.

Members of Roboclub also compete in an international Robotics competition Robot X where universities from around the world automate a WAM-V 5.3m vessel to complete a variety of tasks such as navigation, search and report, payload delivery. In last year’s competition, the team won 1 judge award and an industry award for their efforts. The club and team have their sights fixed on improving their design to compete in the next competition in 2024.
