Welcome Message On behalf of the Junior Service League of Americus, thank you for your interest in supporting our organization and the work we do throughout the Sumter County community.

Since our founding in 1937, the Junior Service League of Americus has been dedicated to strengthening our community through service, leadership development, and meaningful partnerships. For nearly nine decades, JSL members have invested their time, talents, and resources to support local initiatives that make a lasting difference for families, children, and organizations across Americus and Sumter County.

About Us

Chartered in 1937, the Junior Service League of Americus (JSL) is a longstanding 501(c)(4) tax-exempt, civic organization with a primary goal of service to Sumter County. Often described as “volunteers with a vision,” JSL has a rich history of responding to community needs through hands-on service, philanthropy, and leadership. Founded originally as the Junior Welfare League of Americus, the organization’s earliest efforts focused on improving local healthcare access, supporting youth and families, and strengthening community institutions— work that laid the foundation for decades of meaningful impact.

Over the years, JSL has supported a wide range of initiatives, including healthcare programs, youth and education services, assistance for elderly and vulnerable populations, and community enrichment projects.

Fundraising efforts such as The Cowpoke Carnival, established in 1992, have enabled the League to sustain its service mission while investing directly in local organizations.

Today, JSL continues this legacy through active service committees focused on education, community health, animal welfare, and residential care programs. Guided by nearly nine decades of service, the Junior Service League of Americus remains committed to strengthening the Sumter County community through purposeful service and lasting partnerships.

In-Kind Sponsor The In-Kind Sponsor level is designed for businesses that wish to support the Junior Service League of Americus through donated products, professional services, or event support rather than a direct financial contribution. In-kind donations play a critical role in reducing operational costs and expanding the impact of JSL programs and events throughout the year.

Sponsorship recognition for In-Kind Sponsors will align with the fair market value of goods or services donated during the sponsorship year and will correspond to the closest applicable annual sponsorship level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Premier Sponsor). Recognition may include event signage, website placement, inclusion in sponsor communications, and verbal acknowledgements, based on the total annual value of the contribution.
