MENTAL HEALTH
Kind of defense reaction to uncertainty to give oneself a sense of assurance or control in the world
ADDICTION :
Kind of reward system that motivates a person to repeat behaviors with surges of dopamine resulting in people repeating again and again
Philadelphia / Kensington stats
- 17 smoke shops (tobacco stores)
- Kensington is still to be one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Philadelphia for its gun violence and illegal drug market

- During the eight-month trial, 93 men and women ages 25 to 65 were chosen to receive either two psilocybin doses or antihistamine pills (used for allergies, hives, bug bites)
- 80% of those who were given the psychedelic treatment - 20% were given antihistamine pills
- All of the volunteers were averaging seven alcoholic drinks at a time before the trial.
- At the end of the trial, half of those who received psilocybin had quit drinking altogether, compared to about one-quarter of those who were given the antihistamine.

Adult smoking-35.7% Binge drinking-16.4% Drug overdose- 152.1 (per 100,000)
The power and intense medical research of psychedelic drug centers

Evidence shows that the drugs are a much greater safer profile than major addictive drugs, having extremely low levels of mortality and producing little if any physical dependence.
Two doses of psilocybin, a compound found in psychedelic mushrooms, reduces heavy drinking by 83 percent

● LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) is made from a substance found in ergot, which is a fungus that infects rye.
There are many different kinds of psychedelics. Some occur naturally, in trees, vines, seeds, fungi and leaves. Others are made in laboratories.2 They come in many forms including tablets, blotter paper, dried mushrooms, powders and crystalline powders. Our solution
● Psilocybin is a naturally occurring substance found in mushrooms and is found in many parts of the world.
● Mescaline is derived from the Mexican peyote and San Pedro cactus and produces similar effects to LSD.5
● DMT (Diemethyltryptamine) is structurally similar to psilocin, an alkaloid found in psilocybin mushrooms. It can be synthesised in the laboratory but is also a naturally occurring component of several plants.
● 2C-B (4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is a psychedelic drug first synthesised in 1974. 2C-B is considered both a psychedelic and a mild entactogenic.
‘Entactogen’ means ‘touching within’ and is a term used by psychiatrists to classify MDMA and related drugs.
● Peyote (Lophophora williamsii) is the most well-known and potent psychedelic cactus, although the smallest and slowest growing. Instead of growing upward to form a column, it grows as ‘buttons’ low to the ground. It has been used by Native Americans for over 5000 years.
● 25[-x]-NBOMe (N-methoxybenzyl) is the name for a series of drugs that have psychedelics effects. Reports indicate that there are a number of different versions of NBOMe available – all with differing effects.
Programs
Coming Closer to Legalization
A few States want to legalize use for all adult patients, with others wanting to prioritize it toward veterans or others with PTSD
California – In Santa Cruz and Oakland law enforcement has been defunded concerning psilocybin and it has been made the lowest law enforcement priority.
Colorado – Denver has defunded law enforcement concerning psilocybin and made it the lowest law enforcement priority.
New Jersey – Reduced the statute of penalty for psilocybin.
New Hampshire & New Mexico – Passed limited judicial exceptions regarding psychedelics.
Oregon – Passed a full legalization and regulation statute along with decriminalizing it.
Texas & Connecticut – Have legal working groups studying medical use.
Washington – Seattle and Port Townsend have made it the lowest law enforcement priority.
Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont are all actively working on legislation regarding psychedelics.

Psilocybin Retreat: MycoMeditation
MycoMeditation is a Psilocybin Retreat located in Jamaica, which condones the therapeutic use of Psilocybin Mushrooms in a safe and nature based environment. It aims to centralize around a more group oriented experience, deriving from the customary consumption of Psilocybin Mushrooms. The group therapeutic sessions helps create a sense of connectedness and community with the resident guest.
