ACER ISA Data Analysis - Nemanja Dordevic (DIAEH) This training session will provide a practical and focused approach to unpacking ACER ISA data in the Secondary School. The session will explore how to interpret key assessment indicators, identify patterns and trends across cohorts, classes and student groups, and distinguish between attainment, relative strengths and areas requiring further investigation. Practical examples will be used to examine how ISA data can inform planning, grouping, intervention and classroom response, while avoiding overreliance on single measures. The session will also support colleagues in triangulating ISA findings with other available evidence, translating data into meaningful teaching actions, and using assessment information to strengthen responsive teaching, targeted support and student progress. SECONDARY - Assessment Design, Standardisation & Moderation/Dept Tracking P1/2 - Gerhard Van der Wal (DIAB) This training session will provide a practical and strategic exploration of assessment quality assurance for Middle Leaders and HODs, with a focus on the role of the Assessment Design Instrument, standardisation, moderation, data analysis and meticulous tracking. The session will examine how robust assessment processes can strengthen validity, reliability and consistency across departments, ensuring that tasks accurately measure intended learning and that judgements are applied equitably. Practical examples will be used to explore how standardisation and moderation can improve shared expectations, how assessment data can be analysed to identify patterns, gaps and underperformance, and how precise tracking can support timely intervention and responsive teaching. The session will also support leaders in establishing clear departmental systems that connect assessment design, quality assurance, data interpretation and follow-up action to improved student outcomes

Addressing Underperformance - Michelle Puxty (DIAEH) This training session will provide a practical and structured approach to addressing underperformance within leadership roles. The session will explore how leaders can identify concerns early, distinguish between capability, confidence and contextual barriers, and communicate expectations with clarity and fairness. Practical scenarios will be used to examine how evidence can be gathered and discussed constructively, how improvement targets can be established, and how appropriate support and accountability can be balanced. The session will also consider follow-up, documentation and monitoring, supporting leaders to manage underperformance consistently, professionally and with a clear focus on improvement. Learning Focused Teaching - Claire Inglis - (DIAEH) This training session will provide a practical and evidence-informed approach to monitoring teaching with a clear focus on learning rather than performance. The session will explore how leaders can distinguish between highly visible or performative teaching behaviours and the deeper evidence that demonstrates whether students are actually thinking, understanding and making progress. Practical examples will consider what to notice during lesson visits, how to interpret student responses and work, and how to avoid overvaluing presentation, pace or activity for their own sake. The session will also support leaders in developing a more consistent and equitable approach to observation, with attention to learning, challenge, misconceptions, responsiveness and the quality of student thinking. PRIMARY - Assessment Design, Standardisation & Moderation/Dept Tracking P1/2 - Stephanie Trueman - (DIAEH) This session will provide a practical and strategic exploration of how Primary Middle Leaders can utilise assessment data to inform teaching, strengthen consistency and improve pupil outcomes. Drawing on standardised assessments, including CAT4, NGRT, ACER ISA and GL Progress Tests, participants will examine how triangulating assessment information with classroom evidence can identify learning gaps, inform appropriate challenge and support responsive teaching. Through collaborative writing moderation, leaders will explore how shared expectations and professional dialogue can strengthen the reliability of teacher judgements across different curriculum contexts. The session will also consider how effective assessment practices can support purposeful tracking, timely intervention and sustained pupil progress.
