WALKING BESIDE MINISTRY In Galatians 6, Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” At Desert Hills our Walking Beside team members have been trained and organized to do just that. What’s Going On In the Parking Lot? AT&T is doing upgrades within our bell tower. AT&T pays DHPC a monthly fee to use our bell tower for their equipment. These fees are used to endow the DHPC Fogdall Scholarship Fund. During the next 30 days, please take caution as the FC lower parking lot is blocked off and a temporary rubber speed bump is in the upper FC lot to protect the various cables being installed. Info about our September 5th visitors… “B & K” are university teachers and lead the member care team of their organization that supports and cares for 200+ staff based in East Asia. Most organizations have been forced out due to COVID but 10% of theirs have stayed. Thankfully, they’ve been able to work virtually during the pandemic. This has afforded them opportunities to reimagine how they equip/prepare new staff and support/ train member care personnel leading to the construction of new online training and resourcing platforms. The challenge calls them to practice a discipline of trusting in God’s global, absolute, unlimited authority during uncertainty. They’re more committed than ever to their calling. Please intercede for the successful return of staff and for the perseverance of our sisters and brothers. Their daughter has returned to Grand Canyon University studying nursing as a sophomore.
DHPC Adult Discipleship presents...
Starting Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm for NINE weeks. The cost is $129 for access to the material for one year. The classes are designed to be in person but zoom capabilities are also available. All materials are available online. Scholarships will be available as well. Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is a well known international program offered by corporations and small businesses to their employees and, often, offered by churches to members of their congregations. The nine classes are de-
signed for the young and the mature individuals who want to learn how to better manage their budgets, save for specific items and retirement, as well as a great course for teenagers and college bound children to learn about budgeting and CREDIT CARDS! The course will be taught by Susie Brousseau CLU, ChFC, CFP. Susie has previously taught this course to 30 individuals at Desert Hills Lutheran Church in Scottsdale, AZ in 2014. Susie is a wealth advisor that specializes in investment management,
asset protection, financial planning, retirement planning and helping you understand what is needed from a planning standpoint in your will and/or revocable trust.
