WALKING BESIDE MINISTRY Think of a time when you really felt cared for. Our Walking Beside Ministry is a ministry of listening. Listening is one of the most powerful ministry tools at our disposal. It demonstrates that you care about the other person. Everyone who has EVER sung in a choir before—even as far back as elementary school—is invited to join the Chancel Choir to sing with us at the 10:30 service next Sunday. We will begin with breakfast in Fellowship Center, rehearse the anthem, and sing in worship. The schedule is above. It would be very helpful if you would let us know you’re coming so we have enough food (and chairs!) for everyone, but even if you haven’t and wake up that morning thinking, “You know what would make this day better? Art Classes with Roberta Kritzia Mondays 10:00am-12:00pm, beginning Oct. 11th through Nov. 1st in the Fellowship Center Room #207, $45/student/week + one-time $20 supply fee Roberta is a singularly unique link from her classical art education through her own production of expressive and colorful paintings, to her ability to pass onto art students the tenants of fine art by encouraging them to learn to draw well before moving ahead with their artwork. Roberta literally will re-create an Art Studio atmosphere for the students in her classes at DHPC. NEW WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY Happy Fall and that means that it's time to begin a new Bible Study! Beginning in September, Kathleen Harris will be offering a study by Melissa Spoelstra entitled “First Corinthians: Living Love When We Disagree” Seems as relevant for our times as it did for the church in Corinth. This study will be offered 2 times a week: Monday (beginning September 13) 6:30pm-8:00pm via Zoom Thursday (beginning September 16) 10:00-11:30am in person and via zoom for out of towners. DHPC Adult Discipleship presents...
Starting Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm for NINE weeks. The cost is $129 for access to the material for one year. The classes are designed to be in person but zoom capabilities are also available. All materials are available online. Scholarships will be available as well. Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is a well known international program offered by corporations and small businesses to their employees and, often, offered by churches to members of their congregations. The nine classes are de-
signed for the young and the mature individuals who want to learn how to better manage their budgets, save for specific items and retirement, as well as a great course for teenagers and college bound children to learn about budgeting and CREDIT CARDS! The course will be taught by Susie Brousseau CLU, ChFC, CFP. Susie has previously taught this course to 30 individuals at Desert Hills Lutheran Church in Scottsdale, AZ in 2014. Susie is a wealth advisor that specializes in investment management,
asset protection, financial planning, retirement planning and helping you understand what is needed from a planning standpoint in your will and/or revocable trust.
