PRELUDE

*CALL TO WORSHIP from Isaiah 52:13-15
Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader:
Thus says the Lord, “Behold, My servant will prosper, He will be high and lifted up and greatly exalted. Just as many were astonished at you – so His appearance was marred more than any man and His form more than the sons of men. Thus He will sprinkle many nations, Kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; For what had not been told them they will see, and what they had not heard they will understand. Let us open our eyes, ears and hearts to the Lord in worship.

This Is My Father’s World
1. This is my Father's world, And to my list'ning ears All nature sings, and round me rings The music of the spheres. This is my Father's world, I rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas His hand the wonders wrought.
2. This is my Father's world, The birds their carols raise; The morning light, the lily white Declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world, He shines in all that's fair; In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.
3. This is my Father's world, O let me ne'er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world, The battle is not done; Jesus, Who died, shall be satisfied, And earth and heav'n be one. *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Apostles’ Creed) I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. page 3
*GLORY BE TO THE FATHER Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION from Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely Christ Jesus has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. We confess that we all – like sheep – have gone astray; we have turned— every one—to his or her own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Lord have mercy on us! Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON (2 Corinthians 1:21-22) Leader:
All:
It is God who makes us stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore, let us assure one another of God's pardon. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

SCRIPTURE
Mark 10:42-45
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Leader: This is the word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God! PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. *HYMN #488, vs. 1,3,4
Just as I Am
1. Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
3. Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt, Fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
4. Just as I am - Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve. Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come! I come! OFFERINGS OF THE PEOPLE OFFERTORY

SCRIPTURE Mark 10:46-52 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. SERMON
“WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?”
*HYMN #309, vs. 1,2,4
I Will Sing of My Redeemer
Pastor Calvin Kelly
1. I will sing of my Redeemer, and His wondrous love to me; On the cruel cross He suffered, from the curse to set me free.
3. I will praise my dear Redeemer, His triumphant power I’ll tell, How the victory He giveth over sin and death and hell. Refrain
Refrain: Sing, O sing, of my Redeemer, With His blood He purchased me. On the cross He sealed my pardon, Paid the debt and made me free.
4. I will sing of my Redeemer, and His heavenly love to me; He from death to life hath bro't me, Son of God, with Him to be. Refrain

Adversity is a condition of suffering and hardship involving anguish, pressure, trials, heartaches, or disappointments. It may be physical or emotional in nature, and either long or short in duration, but it always causes pain. Although none of us want hurt or trouble, if it comes, we have two options. We can waste our sorrows or grow in our relationship with the Lord. Spiritual growth in adversity depends on several factors; one of which is to equip us to comfort others. That is where your Walking Beside ministers can make a difference -- meeting your need by providing care, compassion, community, and a listening ear. Give us a call.

Troop Care Ministry News... The following is a letter to the church, dated August 25, 2020, was sent by U.S. Marine Conrad McDermott, son of Doug and Deb McDermott. Conrad will soon be deployed to Kuwait. Please keep him, and all our active duty personnel, in your prayers. --The Troop Care Ministry Team I just received the care package and would like to express my gratitude as well as my squad’s gratitude for your support. Upon receiving the package, we distributed and enjoyed the contents of the care package. The care package has aided all of us and will be put to good use for upcoming training ops and for our rapidly approaching deployment. Thank you for your prayer and continued support. We have just completed our work up with a 40 day field op in 29 palms, CA. During this field op, we completed several ranges and live fire training exercises. We will be deploying in early October, assuming all goes accordingly and the Covid19 pandemic remains stagnant. Throughout the pandemic and field ops, I have continuously watched DHPCs weekly video sermons. These video sermons and their messages have aided in bringing a sense of normalcy to the crazyness of everyday life. Thank you for having these recorded sermons available, they fill an important role in the preparation and execution of weekly tasks. Thank you for your continuous support throughout the covid19 pandemic and throughout the work-up for deployment. The gratitude and relief that comes with a care package cannot be expressed enough. Thank you. Thank you, 3\1 Lima Co 2nd Plt, Conrad McDermott
The Clan of Christ for 38 Years at Leupp
at DHPC
Join the Virtual Fall Faith Festival with Leupp. Share Your Covid-19 God Sightings. The Lord has brought DHPC and Leupp together in ministry as the Clan of Christ for 38 years showing the world how to be “One in Christ”. For the first time we will fail to visit each other at least twice annually in worship, ministry, and friendship. We missed our annual spring trip to Leupp, so we posted a love message on the Hope Resurrected Facebook page. There we shared our prayers and fond memories of good times together. Now is when we would normally invite our Leupp brothers and sisters in Christ to worship with us and participate in our Fall Faith Festival. Instead, we are having a virtual gathering by sharing stories of how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected our lives and ministries. Suggested topics include: God sightings we have witnessed during the Coronavirus. How we are staying sane with lockdowns, masks, and social distancing? How the kids are coping with the social distancing? How the kids and college students are going to school? How we are staying connected to the community during COVID-19 ? How we are connecting with Friends and Family during COVID-19 ? What insights we have made during COVID-19 ? How we have engaged in ministry during COVID-19? Stories from DHPC and Leupp will be assembled in a video posted on the DHPC and HR Facebook pages. You are invited to tell your story.
To participate in our virtual gathering with Leupp, contact Chuck Starnes for more information. email: cstarnes33@gmail.com or text: 623-261-8969

Fixin’ Bags New Normal!
Life has changed so we are having to change with it (with God’s help!). Eight years ago, the church began filling bags of food containing the necessary items to make a complete dinner, to give to the Foothills Food Bank for their Thanksgiving Turkey distribution. The last two years we gave out small bags for financial donations and the Food Bank purchased the food. Due to Covid, we will not be giving out small fixin’ bags but ask that you consider making donations directly to the church with a notation on the memo line of the check, “Fixin Bags”. The need for food is still GREAT in our community so let’s dig deep in our pockets and keep our giving going from DHPC. Money will be collected from NOW until Nov. 12. Questions? Contact Pat Nichols 480.595.5751 God has blessed us in so many ways at DHPC! “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” -Luke 12:48b
