We are branches, grafted to Christ the vine. We come to celebrate and strengthen our abiding in Christ. The branches that remain in the vine bear much fruit. We come to celebrate and increase our fruitfulness for Christ. If we abide in Christ, then Christ’s love, words and joy abide in us. We come to celebrate Christ’s love, keep God’s Word, and be filled with rejoicing. So, let us gather for worship; glorifying God and enjoying His presence together. PRAYER OF CONFESSION Holy God, we have propped up our lives with lies rather than devote ourselves to truth. We have allowed our thoughts to be polluted with selfish desires rather than focus on the well being of your people. We have coveted for ourselves the things of earth rather than aspired to the intentions of our Creator. We have embraced attitudes and actions that kill and destroy rather than those that build up and bring life.
O God, we ask that you prune from us what is sick, diseased, and sinful. We ask you to strengthen our abiding in Jesus Christ, and our ability to bear fruit through the Holy Spirit. We want to be new creations in Christ Jesus. May the power of the resurrection be a reality within and among us, Lord. We pray all this in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Fourth (Mostly) Annual “Fun and Fellowship” Golf Outing at The Boulders Wednesday, May 5th Tee times begin at 11:50 AM and last for as many foursomes as we can fill. The cost is $125 plus tax for 18 holes at the award-winning Boulders South golf course. Contact Bill Billard, at 480-595-2266, billard1@cox.net , or sign up on the patio between services. SAGUARO LAKE BOAT TOUR Thursday, May 20th, 8:30am (meet at church to carpool) Cost for tour: $21 (lunch extra)
Spend a fun day at Saguaro Lake with friends from church on May 20th. We will enjoy an 80 minute tour of the lake on the Desert Belle and then we’ll have lunch overlooking the marina in Shiprock Restaurant. The cruise is $21 per person and the lunch is your personal choice. (You may find the menu online at shiprockrestaurant.com) On the day of the event, please assemble at 8:15am in the church parking for carpooling and plan to be gone about five hours.
