Leader: The Lord has promised and said to His people, “Do not fear, for I am with you.
People: Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

People: I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Leader: May the peace of Christ fill our hearts as we turn to the Lord in prayer.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. OF CONFESSION
O Spirit of God, too often we cut ourselves off from the power of Your presence, seeking fulfillment in everything but Your love. We know that You have given each of us gifts and abilities to help make our world a better place, but we often use them only for our own benefit. Teach us to work together and to appreciate each other’s abilities. We can change the world through Your power and gifts. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Leader: And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Therefore, let us assure one another of God’s pardon. All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION
Spirit of God, speak once again through the Words of Scripture that our listening ears may hear Your voice. Help us to place Your Word in our minds, treasure it in our hearts, choose it with our wills, and live it through our bodies. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. ANTHEM
