We are sorry for the times we failed to stand with our family and friends, we were not there for them through thick and thin. For the times we were too timid to stand up for what was right, and allowed others to suffer because of our cowardice. For the times we failed to stand up and speak the truth of your gospel, out of fear of ridicule and persecution. For the times we stood before you in prayer and refused to forgive others as you have forgiven us. When we know the love of Christ, which is greater than all things, we will live our lives by faith and serve the King of kings. Walking worthy of the Son, the righteous Holy One, when we know the love of Christ, our journey is begun. Refrain: Rooted and grounded in the soil of God’s great love, His Spirit dwells in us, descending from above. He is our guide, teaching us the truth, rooted and grounded in love in all we say and do. When we know the love of Christ more than we can understand, we will place our trust in Him and take His nail-pressed hand. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. WALKING BESIDE MINISTRY In Galatians 6, Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” At Desert Hills our Walking Beside team members have been trained and organized to do just that. They provide one-to-one care, prayer, and support to those who are going through a difficult time.
