PRAYER OF CONFESSION O my Savior, forgive me and help me. I am slow to learn, prone to forget, and weak to climb; I am in the foothills when I should be on the heights; I am pained by my graceless heart, my prayerless days, my poverty of love, my sloth in the heavenly race, my sullied conscience, my wasted hours, my unspent opportunities. I am blind while your light shines all around me: take the scales from my eyes, remove sin and unbelief from my heart. Make it my highest joy to study you, meditate on you, gaze on you, sit like Mary at your feet, recline like John at your side, appeal like Peter to your love, strive like Paul to run the race set before me. PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION

SCRIPTURE I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us.

Psalm 40:1-10 None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.

Sacrifice and offering you did not desire— but my ears you have opened— burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.

WALKING BESIDE MINISTRY In Galatians 6, Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” At Desert Hills our Walking Beside team members have been trained and organized to do just that. They provide one-to-one care, prayer, and support to those who are going through a difficult time. GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

If you are dealing with the loss of a friend or a loved one, finding it difficult to find peace or move forward or you are missing them more than anyone can know, we encourage you to attend our grief support group. You will find others like you who are struggling with loss and whose hearts are aching. You will find help, comfort and compassion. The group is open to members or the community.

The faith based support group is open, co-ed, non-denominational and free of charge.

Meetings are every Thursday afternoon.
