PRELUDE
Prelude in e minor, BuxWV 143 Natalie Mealey, organ
D. Buxtehude
* CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People:
We hear your voice calling us this morning, Lord. We turn to you as sheep without a Shepherd. We run to you this morning, Lord. We long to sit with you in the green grass beside the still waters. We enter into your Sabbath rest this morning, Lord. We turn to you in prayer.
He Leadeth Me
#690
1. He leadeth me! O blessed thought! O words with heav’nly comfort fraught! Whate’er I do, where’er I be, Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.
2. Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom, sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom, by waters calm, o'er troubled sea, still 'tis his hand that leadeth me. Refrain
Refrain: He leadeth me, He leadeth me; By His own hand He leadeth me: His faithful foll’wer I would be, For by His hand He leadeth me.
3. And when my task on earth is done, When, by Thy grace, the vict’ry’s won, E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee, Since God thro' Jordan leadeth me. Refrain
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Apostles’ Creed) I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *GLORY BE TO THE FATHER Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Good Shepherd, you guide us in the right path, you lead us in the ways of righteousness, but we have allowed our anger, our rage, our greed, and at times even our hate, to direct our paths. We overreact, we tear each other down, we despise each other and are full of selfrighteousness. We have even used your name to justify our sins. Forgive us, Lord, for not following Your ways. Forgive us for not remembering that we are your sheep, and you are our Shepherd. Guide us back to your path, to loving you and loving our neighbors. Help us to unclench our fists and lend out our hands in hope and healing, forgiveness and love. In the name of Christ our Shepherd we pray. Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON (2 Corinthians 1:21-22) Leader:
All:
It is God who makes us stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore, let us assure one another of God's pardon. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
ANTHEM
Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us Savior, like a shepherd lead us, Much we need Thy tender care; In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, For our use Thy folds prepare: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
arr. W. B. Roberts
Early let us seek Thy favor, Early let us do Thy will; Blessed Lord and only Savior, With Thy love our beings fill: Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still; Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast loved us, love us still.
PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION Spirit of God, speak once again through the Words of Scripture that our listening ears may hear Your voice. Help us to place Your Word in our minds, treasure it in our hearts, choose it with our wills, and live it through our bodies. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen. SCRIPTURE Psalm 23 1 2 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Leader: This is the word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God! PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. *HYMN
Break Thou the Bread of Life 1. Break Thou the bread of life, Dear Lord, to me, As Thou didst break the loaves Beside the sea; Beyond the sacred page I seek Thee, Lord; My spirit pants for Thee, O Living Word.
#413
2. Break Thou the bread of life, O Lord, to me, That hid within my heart Thy Word may be; Mold Thou each inward thought, From self set free, And let my steps to all Controlled by Thee.
3. Bless Thou the truth, dear Lord, To me, to me, As Thou didst bless the bread By Galilee; Then shall all bondage cease, All fetters fall; And I shall find my peace, My All in All. OFFERINGS OF THE PEOPLE OFFERTORY

To God Be the Glory
#56
1. To God be the glory - great things He hath done! So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin And opened the life-gate that all may go in. Refrain: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus, the Son, And give Him the glory - great things He hath done! 2. Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son. But purer and higher and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see. Refrain

ARE YOU IN NEED OF PRAYER? DO YOU HAVE A JOY TO SHARE? Prayer cards are located in each pew pocket and around the campus The spread of the coronavirus across the world and our country has created an incredibly stressful environment for all of us, especially those with underlying health conditions. Because we are socially isolated and the media bombards us with the latest numbers on COVID-19 cases and deaths, we experience a roller coaster of emotions. Our reactions can fluctuate from disbelief, denial, anxiety, fear, anger, and even depression. If you’d like someone to talk with, our team members would be glad to visit with you by phone or in person.
