PRAYER OF CONFESSION Father, we believe Jesus’ resurrection ought to be told to the ends of the earth, but our tongues are tied when we are asked to share our faith. Forgive us for the silence of our lips when others depend on us to interpret the Christian faith and for our actions which fail to show your love. Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph,and Salome. In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there. It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached, Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where he was laid. Leader: This is the word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God!

Jesus called us in The Great Commission to “Go, therefore, and make disciples…” This introductory study will teach you what it takes to be a disciple – More Like Christ - and then to make disciples for Jesus. Instructor: Bill Billard
Synopsis: There is a movement in evangelical churches to build disciples through relationship -oriented Micro-Groups of two-to-four. The Adult Discipleship Committee has been experimenting with this concept, with very good results. We are very excited to get others involved in this journey. The “Makers” curriculum shows why you should become a disciple/ disciple-maker, and how God has equipped you to do so. It also gives you encouragement as to how to get started. This class will use the “Makers” curriculum as a framework to introduce Micro-Groups and some resources that can be used to guide you through the disciplemaking process. The video-driven study includes 5 lessons:

I Love to Tell the Story One “critique” of this hymn is that, while it describes how wonderful it is to tell the story, it never actually tells the story! Katherine Hankey is the author of the text. It is taken from a very long poem in two parts about the story of Christ that she wrote while recovering from a serious illness in 1866. The first part is titled “The Story Wanted,” while the second part is “The Story Told.” So the entire poem does tell the story—in great detail—but the hymn text itself refers to the great joy the story has given and the importance of telling it to others. Weekly reservations are still required to attend. In addition, The Session is continuing its policy that masks or face shields are required for everyone who attends worship with the exception of children age five and under (who must remain with guardians at all times). A mask or face shield must be worn when you are entering the building, during the worship service and the entire time you are on the church campus (bring one from home or one will be provided). For those who are unable to wear a mask or face shield due to medical reasons, The Session feels that you are safer at home.
