CEIC Open for Business

After more than a year of research and planning, the DHPC Christian Education Initiative program is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!! Everyone is encouraged to participate by nominating potential scholarship recipients and providing funding support for this effort. This Christian education assistance initiative will support three primary groups:

-Heart and Mind Scholarship for K-12 Christian Education

More Students, More Like Christ

-Cornerstone Scholarship for Advanced Christian Education

Building up Christ-centered leaders for the Kingdom of God

-Christian School Assistance

Helping Christian schools increase their capacity for student education.

In today’s world where Christian ideals and goals are in great need and often under attack, DHPC hopes to not only assist young people in the acquisition of a classical Christian education but also to serve as a model for other Churches in our community. We hope you will join this ministry.

To nominate a student and initiate the application process simply pick up an application packet from the Church and have the student complete and return it along with any other documents requested. When that is complete, the student and their parents, (if a minor,) will participate in an interview with CEIC members. A determination of scholarship eligibility will then be made, and the applicant and member informed of the outcome. If the application is for the Cornerstone Scholarship, additional information regarding eligibility will be available. Also, greater detail about the overall program will be provided.

To help fund the Christian Education Initiative, simply submit a check written to Desert Hills Presbyterian Church with “CEI” in the memo line, or contact any CEI Committee member, a pastor, or an Office Staff member. Cash or securities are immediately accepted and welcome. Other types of gifts must be reviewed by the CEIC before acceptance. Bequests to the program from an estate will be very helpful in providing future sustainability for the program.

Assisting young people to acquire a classical Christian education is an effective way of contributing to our community and its future, both locally and beyond. We hope all of our members and friends will consider joining in this effort.
