FINANCE As of July 31, our budget numbers are as follows: We have received 72.6% of pledged income ($827,067) and 56.6% of non-pledge offerings ($300,000) while expenses were 49.6% of the budget ($1,297,443). WALKING BESIDE MINISTRY In Galatians 6, Paul tells us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” At Desert Hills our Walking Beside team members have been trained and organized to do just that. They provide one-to-one care, prayer, and support to those who are going through a difficult time. Each week, you’ll spend two hours with like-minded individuals, learning how to foster and create meaningful, ongoing relationships with Muslims in your communities or in nearby communities. What’s Going On In the Parking Lot? AT&T is doing upgrades within our bell tower. AT&T pays DHPC a monthly fee to use our bell tower for their equipment. These fees are used to endow the DHPC Fogdall Scholarship Fund. During the next 30 days, please take caution as the FC lower parking lot is blocked off and a temporary rubber speed bump is in the upper FC lot to protect the various cables being installed. HYGIENE KIT DONATIONS NEEDED
LANDSCAPE HELP NEEDED!
DHPC continues to donate 120-130 kits each month to Phoenix homeless through our mission with Chaplaincy for the Homeless.
Several members have spent numerous hours, days, weeks, and months enjoying cleaning our campus where we can be proud of how it NOW looks and that it is NOT overgrown as it had become. While we liked the natural look, it made our church look a bit unkept. With the wonderful monsoons that returned this year, we are now seeing crops of new growth springing up. We need to stay ahead of this growth and one way was to spray twice a year. To save this cost, we would prefer to see if you are willing to spend some individual time communing with the new growth and help it know that while we love it, we do not want all of it back; we want our campus looking inviting to our members, people considering membership, and our community at large. As little as 30 minutes can help uproot this new growth. You can just drop it at the spot or you can put it in a pile. If you prefer to rake an area, we would love that help also. We can even designate your own small private nature area for you to attend to. We have researched landscaping companies but most are quite expensive and we may have to seriously consider this if we cannot get help. We would prefer not to request additional funds annually to attend to this issue.

Global Workers Presentation and Meet & Greet to learn more about them and how they are a blessing to many.
All are welcome to join us next Sunday, September 5th as we host a global workers couple we care about. They will attend and be introduced at both services. You may meet them on the patio between the worship services and/or please join us in the Fellowship Center after the 2nd service for a Presentation and Meet & Greet. Light finger foods and cold refreshments will be offered. Info about our September 5th visitors… “B & K” are university teachers and lead the member care team of their organization that supports and cares for 200+ staff based in East Asia. Most organizations have been forced out due to COVID but 10% of theirs have stayed. Thankfully, they’ve been able to work virtually during the pandemic. This has afforded them opportunities to reimagine how they equip/ prepare new staff and support/train member care personnel leading to the construction of new online training and resourcing platforms. The challenge calls them to practice a discipline of trusting in God’s global, absolute, unlimited authority during uncertainty. They’re more committed than ever to their calling. Please intercede for the successful return of staff and for the perseverance of our sisters and brothers. Their daughter has returned to Grand Canyon University studying nursing as a sophomore.
