*PRAYER OF INVOCATION

*HYMN My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, The holy catholic church, The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen.

*GLORY BE TO THE FATHER

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God, we confess that our sin turns us from You again and again. We are a sinful generation longing for Your mercy. We want not only to save our lives, but to gain the whole world as well. We are too often ashamed to show our faith to the world around us. Forgive us O Lord, and have mercy upon us we pray, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)

LEADER: It is God who makes us stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore, let us assure one another of God’s pardon.

ALL: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

ANTHEM Behold Now, Praise the Lord Everett Titcomb Chancel Choir

Behold now, praise the Lord, All ye servants of the Lord. Ye that by night stand in the house of the Lord, Even in the courts of the house of our God. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.

PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION

Spirit of God, speak once again through the Words of Scripture that our listening ears may hear Your voice. Help us to place Your Word in our minds, treasure it in our hearts, choose it with our wills, and live it through our bodies. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

SCRIPTURE

Leader: This is the word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God!

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. OFFERINGS OF THE PEOPLE

OFFERINGS OF THE PEOPLE

Chancel Choir

Let the whole creation cry, “Glory to the Lord on high!”

Heav’n and earth, awake and sing, “Praise to our almighty king!” Praise Him, angel hosts above, ever bright and fair in love; sun and moon, lift up your voice; night and stars, in God rejoice.

Servants striving for the Lord, prophets burning with His Word, those to whom the arts belong add their voices to the song. Those of knowledge and of law, to the glorious circle draw; all who work and all who wait, sing, “The Lord is good and great!”

Men and women, young and old, raise the anthem loud and bold, and let children’s happy hearts in this worship bear their parts; from the north to southern pole let the mighty chorus roll: “Holy, Holy, Holy One; glory be to God alone!”
