Leader: If you confess with your mouth, People: “Jesus is Lord,” Leader: And believe in your heart, People: That God raised Him from the dead, Leader: You will be saved. For it is with your heart, People: That you believe and are justified, Leader: And it is with your mouth, People: That you confess and are saved. Leader: Let us worship Christ our Lord and Savior, and turn to Him in prayer.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Holy God, we have propped up our lives with lies rather than devote ourselves to truth. We have allowed our thoughts to be polluted with selfish desires rather than focus on the well-being of Your people. We have coveted for ourselves the things of earth rather than aspired to the intentions of our Creator. We have embraced attitudes and actions that kill and destroy rather than those that build up and bring life. O God, break through all that divides and fragments us. We want to put off the old nature and put on the new. We want to be raised with Christ to a fresh quality of life. Make the resurrection a reality within and among us as we follow you. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
(John 3:16-17)
Leader: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Therefore, let us assure one another of God’s pardon. All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
