*PRAYER OF INVOCATION
*HYMN To God Be the Glory

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Apostles’ Creed)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, The holy catholic church, The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen.
*GLORY BE TO THE FATHER

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God, You alone are good and holy. Purify our lives and make us brave disciples. We do not ask so much that You keep us safe, but to keep us faithful so we may follow Jesus Christ in all of life. Forgive now our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
(John 3:16-17)
Leader: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Therefore, let us assure one another of God’s pardon.
All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
ANTHEM
How Can I Keep from Singing Summer Choir
Refrain:
No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that Rock I’m clinging. Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, how can I keep from singing?
My life flows on in endless song; above earth’s lamentation, I catch the sweet, though far-off hymn that hails a new creation. Refrain
Through all the tumult and the strife, I hear that music ringing. It finds an echo in my soul. How can I keep from singing? Refrain
PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION
What though my joys and comforts die?
The Lord my Savior liveth. What though the darkness gather round?
Songs in the night he giveth. Refrain
The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart, a fountain ever springing! All things are mine since I am his! How can I keep from singing? Refrain
Spirit of God, speak once again through the Words of Scripture that our listening ears may hear Your voice. Help us to place Your Word in our minds, treasure it in our hearts, choose it with our wills, and live it through our bodies. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
