GATHERING PRELUDE WORDS OF WELCOME *CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader:
God calls us from the routines of life. God calls us to observe the Sabbath and renew our strength in the Spirit of God. The Lord calls out, “Come, the banquet is ready.” We hear God’s call, and with all our hearts we respond, “Here I am, Lord.” Let us prepare our hearts for worship in prayer.
*PRAYER OF INVOCATION HYMN
God of Grace and God of Glory
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Apostles’ Creed) I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, The holy catholic church, The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, *GLORY BE TO THE FATHER
PRAYER OF CONFESSION Gracious Lord Jesus, we confess that at times we run around in life as if possessed by anything other than Your love. A legion of concerns and worries can easily overwhelm us. And we can forget all that You have done for us. Help us to recall the good things You have done, and how You have shown mercy upon us. May we be eager to proclaim Your love and bear witness to Your grace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON (John 3:16-17) Leader: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Therefore, let us assure one another of God’s pardon. All:
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

Once I wandered alone in blackness of night, Once I struggled along far from God and right; Then I saw I was lost and in my despair I fell upon my knees in prayer.
Old Satan tried to tell me the Bible was a lie That Jesus did not love me and I was doomed to die, But I stayed on my knees, stayed on my knees; Jesus took my burden away! Chorus
Chorus: I was down on my knees, down on my knees Praying to my Lord ev’ry day. I was praying to Jesus to hear me please And take my heavy burden away.
I had fallen so low in sin and in shame That it seemed almost hopeless to trust His name; But I lifted my voice and cried in despair, And Jesus heard my humble prayer. Chorus
