An update from Buildings and Grounds An update from Buildings and Grounds

Carts Around Campus

We use several types of carts throughout our campus, and each one has a specific purpose and home:

Kitchen Carts - These are for use in the kitchen area only. They’re used to move food, drinks, and supplies, so please keep them clean and in their designated space.

Gray Industrial Carts - These are for transporting materials such as plants, gravel, paint, and other maintenance items. Each one is labeled with the building and area it belongs to. If you borrow a cart, please return it when you’re done. Each week, our team spends extra time searching for carts that weren’t returned — your help saves us that time!

This reminder also applies to any tools or equipment you borrow. We’re happy to share what we have, but we ask that everything be returned to its proper place when finished.

Event and Dinner Clean-Up

When cleaning up after an event, please remember that our trash cans are for solid waste only. Cups with liquids should not be thrown directly into the trash, as the liners can leak and make quite a mess for our volunteers. If you have liquids to dispose of, there are containers in the kitchen where you can pour them out before tossing your cups. Once full, those containers can be emptied into the sink.

Checking Doors During Cooler Weather

As temperatures drop, some of our exit doors—especially the two steel doors in the narthex—don’t always latch completely. We’ve found doors left open late at night, which can invite unwanted critters (and chilly air!) inside. Please take a moment before leaving to doublecheck that doors are fully closed. It only takes a few seconds and helps keep our church safe, secure, and welcoming to people—not pests!

Elevators on Campus

We’ve noticed some people walking from the staff parking lot to ride the Fellowship Hall elevator. Just a reminder for everyone: we have two elevators on campus:

The Fellowship Hall elevator can be accessed directly from the parking lot.

The second elevator is located in the Admin Office area, but you must walk inside the entrance to access it. For easier access to the Admin entrance and elevator, we also have a ramp in that area to help with walking.

Posters for Groups

Many of you have asked about posters for your groups. For posters that are still in good condition, we store them in the Buildings & Grounds Admin Shop. Please stop by if you’re looking for one! Note: Posters with specific dates printed on them are tossed after the event or year they’re for, as they can’t be reused. If you’re planning a poster for your group, we suggest not adding specific dates—instead, leave space for adding the date each year. This way, they can be reused without waste!

If you need help with this or have any questions, the Admin Office staff is happy to assist.
