ORDER OF WORSHIP Maundy Thursday 6:30pm, April 1, 2021 PRELUDE
Fountain Hills Saxophone Quartet
WELCOME CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: All:
Tomorrow is about God’s love displayed in Jesus’ death. His death upon the Cross. But tonight, tonight is about God’s love displayed in Jesus’ life of service. We are Jesus' disciples following Him as He moves toward the cross. Even as He wraps a towel around His waist. Even as he kneels to wash the dust from His disciples’ feet. We are Jesus' disciples as we share tonight the last meal Jesus offered to His friends, His disciples. And now offers to us all. We are Jesus' disciples, longing to be faithful, even as the night grows dark. Even as betrayers loom. Even as the powers that oppose Jesus press in around us. We are Jesus' disciples, struggling to love even as Jesus loved us. We are Jesus' disciples gathered here to worship God.
