Gutter Gard is a revolutionary self cleaning, maintenance free, high quality anodised aluminium gutter protection system that stops debris from entering rainwater gutters, preventing blockages and overflows. The Gutter Gard system comprises an anodised aluminium “lid”, the profile, fitted over the open top of the rainwa ter gutter by means of adjustable rear fixed alu minium brackets. The profile is available in tour widths and is supplied in standard two meter long sections.

The combination of one of the four locations with one of the four profile widths enables Gutter Gard to fit more than 230 different gutter types.
Gutter Gard works on the principle of surface tension. This remarkable force ensures that liquids adhere to the curved top surface of the profile and enables rain
drops that tall onto the surface, to form together into a continuous film of liquid that covers the profiles hydrophilic surface. The film of liquid adheres to the front round edge of the profile and then travels back underneath to cascade into the gutter free of debris. Gutter Gard is available with four profile sizes and an adjustable fixing bracket that enables the system to protect all shapes and makes of plastic, aluminium or cast iron gutters that range in size from 110mm to 215mm wide overall that are either bracket or directly fixed to the building fascia. The Ideal position of the Gutter Gard profile is when the front edge is in line with the inside front edge of the gutter. Overhang of up to 5mm and Inset of up to 10mm is acceptable depending upon the gutter type. See chart below.
Gutter width is from the fascia board to the inside front edge or inside edge of the inward facing lip of the gutter.

Gutter Gard is required to be used in conjunction with an aluminium Ogee gutter that is 125mm wide when measured from the outside rear face of the gutter to the inside front edge of the gutter. The gutter is to be fixed to the fascia with brackets that are 1Dmmwide.
Calculate the top open width of the gutter including the bracket = 125m + 10mm = 135mm. Using the selection chart below, select the Gutter Gard profile and bracket slot that will provide the nearest match to the calculated open width of gutter and bracket (135mm overall). This is Profile 2 using bracket slot 1 providing an overall width of 137mm, giving a 2.0mm overhang. Check the overhang chart below to find that this selections satisfactory.
1. Determine the overall width of the gutter including the gutter fixing bracket/used. The Gutter width is measured from the fascia board to the front inside edge of the gutter. 2. Using the selection chart below, select the Gutter Gard profile size that best matches the inside open width of the gutter and bracket, taking into account the allowable overhang or inset that is dependant upon the gutter shape. 3. The ideaI selection is achieved when the overall width of the Gutter Gard profile, when located into either slot 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the rear fixing bracket, is inline with the front inside edge of the gutter. However it is permissible to allow the Gutter Gard profile to project forward of the front inside edge or be inset in from the front inside edge, depending upon the type of gutter. Please refer to the selection chart below for details. 4. Gutter Gard fixing brackets must be installed at one metre Intervals with extra brackets at each corner. 5. End plate sections must be fitted at the termination of each continuous run of gutter. 6. Joining rods should be fitted into the front receptors on the Gutter Gard profile to join each section of profile to the next. ALLOWABLE PROFILE INSET FROM FRONT INSIDE EDGE OF GUTTER = 10mm

Once inside the gutters, the leaves, moss, pine needles and other debris congregate together to form a mass of soaking wet material, ever increasing in size. that either gets stuck at intervals along the gutter, or gradually moves towards the outlet where the open ends of the down pipes are connected onto the gutters. Over time, some of the debris will begin to break down to a size where they will be drawn into the pipe itself. resulting in blockages that often mean the complete removal and replacement of the down pipes.

What gutters willit fit? Gutter Gard is suitable for all plastic, aluminium and cast iron gutters that are facia fitted and range in size between 110mm and 315mm wide. Gutter Gard is available in three profile widths that all utilise a common two part aluminium adjustable rear bracket fixing system. It is the combination of one of four brackets locations with one of three profile widths that ensures that Gutter Gard is suitable for use with more than 200 different gutter makes and sizes.
Independent tests have demonstrated that the Gutter Gard profile can cope with the equiva lent of 32 times the accepted UK mainland rainfall volumes without spillage.
The Gutter Gard system com prises of a scientifically modelled aluminium profile , the cover. that fits ON TOP and OVER the open top of a rainwater gutter, totally enclosing the open top and shields this from any debris that would normally fall inside from doing so. The front round edge of the Gut ter Gard profile is fitted inline with the front edge of the gutter and because of this, all leaves and other debris that have fallen onto the surface of the Gutter Gard profile, are washed over the front edge to fall to the ground clear of the gutter or standing debris are simply blown off the surface during the next drying wind.
Clearance Gap How Does It Work? The system works using the principle of liquid adhesion, where the rainwater droplets and streams of water that cascade from the roof tiles merge togeth er to form a thin continuous film of liquid that covers the anodised surface of the top profile.

Since all Gutter Gard systems and sizes are fitted ON TOP of the fitted gutter rather than inside the gutter, there MUST be a clearance gap of at least 40mm between the lowest point of the overhanging roof tiles and the highest point of the gutter in order to facilitate the fitting of the Gutter Gard profile.
