Dear stakeholders and supporters of TSU’s Land-Grant Programs,

We are delighted to share with you that TN Senate Finance CommitteeChair, Senator Bo Watson and his staff spent a fruitful afternoon with us visiting laboratories, chatting with students, and discussing with the Dean about our infrastructure needs. We are very appreciative of theSenator and his staff for taking time on a hot summer afternoon to be with us. We also hosted a very successful National 4-H Board Meeting on our campus this month. This is the first time the 4-H Board met on aHBCU campus and we are glad that they decided to meet on our campus.
Our outreach programs continue to deliver new techniques, technologies and scientific information on better managing health and agricultural productivity. Our students continue to excel winning several national awards. We are so proud of Shaun Wimberly, a junior Agribusiness major, representing the student body on the university’s Board of Trustees.
I thank Ms. Janiece Pigg, our distance education expert, who started this monthly news and successfully published it on a regular basis. We are going to miss her as she decided to move to our sister institution in Knoxville. We wish her the best!
