The Quezon City - Central Business District (QC-CBD), also known as the Triangle Park, is a project obtained by Ayala Land Incorporation (ALI) through public bidding in 2009. Together with the National Housing Authority, the project aims to build a “mixed-use and eco-efficient” business district in Quezon City. It is anticipated to be the center of commerce in the city, which will supposedly provide benefits to the community in the city and especially to businesses and corporations.
The project is expected to occupy approximately 250.6 hectares of land area in the North and East Triangles, and Veterans Memorial area of Quezon City. It is connected to three stations of MRT-3 and can be found along major roads in the city: the Elliptical Road, Agham Road, EDSA, Quezon Avenue, North Avenue, and East Avenue.
Included in the project is the 29.1-hectare land in North Triangle owned by NHA which is priced at P6 billion. The NHA is expecting to earn double the amount during the duration of the project. Sitio San Roque, an urban poor community in Barangay Bagong Pag-Asa can also be found here along with the newly established Vertis North.
Developers of the Triangle Park or QC-CBD plans to divide it into 5 districts: 1. Triangle Exchange, a commercial area directly connected to public transportation stations, totaling 62.3 hectares, 2. Emporium or the ‘Information Technology Hub’ with a size of 49.5 hectares, 3. Downtown Hub where public institutions in the area will be placed with a size of 58.64 hectares,
4. Residences District allotted for high-rise condominiums, townhomes, and other housings, 5. Common District designated for ‘green spaces’, amounting to 18.2 hectares
